I’m so frustrated that we weren’t able to get a bigger allocation when they’re nowhere near sold out.
Very poor on their part that they could not sell home tickets in a way that would allow a bigger away allocation should home sales not be good.
Why do we always expect other teams to accommodate us?
Hold on Charlton fans are probably up for this one game, 85% aren't bothered about the other 20 away games this season.
Give them the 13000 tickets they want.

It's how it is with all clubs having a 'cup final' like this.

Definitely should have given Charlton the full 9k. Silly not to really.

Without wishing to sound like a certain poster on here, how many have you sold?
I am surprised that your members have not taken advantage of the cheap tickets and be able to go to a rare game this season.
I was expecting a virtual sell out.

We’re dull as fuck to the rest of the footballing world , hence the lack of spurs interest in watching us in the league cup

I haven't checked but capacity is 62k and would take a punt that the crowd will be around the 50k range on Wednesday +/- 3k.

So spurs have the segregation ability to give an away team 9k? That’s madness they didn’t offer that up , can only be they expected a bigger home take up .
who has been given the 9k in the past

Should definitely have given us the 9k, we'd have sold most if not all of it, leaving money on the table

I dont know how they come to calculate the away section but it does seem an absolutely nonsense when the blocks directly above you are not sold out.

Reading a bit online about Brighton only taking the same figure as us. They thinking was they would take 9k to the game & Spurs wanted the money for all the tickets upfront, so backed away from it. Probably the same thing with us and with no one at the club leading it, no one wanted to make that decision.

I just had a look.  A lot more tickets have been sold in the last 48hrs.
There's only a handful of seats in the upper part of the big South stand and a scattering of seats in the top tier of the East and West.

The main lack of sales looks like it is in the blocks above the Charlton fans.
    They're somewhere around 40-50%.

If the powers that be had thought about it, they could have moved some ST holders for the game into other areas so we could have sold the rest.  It does make it an absolute nonsense how they come up with these decisions.
  • The assumption would be that Spurs probably thought that at 25 quid they'd sell out. First home game, school holidays etc.

I think they priced tickets accordingly to sell out and will be disappointed with their members take up.

Ultimately, they approached this wrong. They could have had a higher ticket price, sold 9k to away team and still probably have the same home turnout. Have done themselves (and us) out of income

  • How many are actually left in the home areas at our end of the stadium?

People are talking like there's thousands left. Surely they're fairly close to selling out?

    Here you go...

Blocks directly above the Charlton blocks...

519 is virtually empty apart from a handful of seats sold (assuming they are ST holders that didn't want to relocate for the game!)

Don't know about corporate seats but in the normal seats there are about 9k unsold.

For the club I imagine it purely comes down to cost and logistics. Give Charlton another 3k tickets and it is an extra £75k in revenue. But they have to open the third tier with extra stewarding, policing and staff costs which counterbalance.

Of course, the extra 3k Addicks would have bought food and booze so.......

One last plea for one random spare going, can't quite bring myself to sit in the home end.

There are virtually empty blocks above the CAFC fans. Get a seat there and spread out, make yourself comfortable.

If you have enough front you can probably blag your way into the away fans. Or Abseil down.

I’m sure spurs fans are no different to ours and if someone has a designated seat (don’t know if they include cup games for the season ticket ) they’d want to use it for their game etc

Haha, do you think Levy* would give us the first two home cup games for free like in the old days?

*Yes, yes I know he's gone but he was the one who took it away!
