Anywhere decent to park before I go searching?

Usually get really lucky with parking on away days but I get the feeling this will be a trickier one

Leaburn, Bell, and Chalobah are the main ones not to start tonight, otherwise happy for the other starting 11 members from Saturday to start again.
As long as we don’t get Cov-Doc
We might get Ouma-Doc which would be a lot of running but a test of their positional sense
Not sure why Doc would suddenly be starting .  I’d be tempted to start Cov, Ouma and Mwamba .  Apter and TC either side of Grant .

Field the B team if we have one, and hope not to take to bad a defeat, the league is what this squad have to worry about. Cups become possible when you have a squad of 25 players all of whom are the best in the division, we are far from that.

There are some schools and community centres that provide parking from about £20. The area has a match day CPZ so dont be tempted to take a chance.

If Doc starts he will get schooled, he does not have the pace to start tonight. Coventry Ouma JRC is what I think NJ will start

My thoughts on the lineup are around who meeds a rest (anyone with an injury record, or anyone in the "red zone") and who needs minutes/has been knocking on the door. I still want to be fairly strong though.

As such I would rest Bell and Chalobah completely, Grant probably on the bench.

Questions over McNamara and Leaburn because there are other injuries in their positions. I dont think Mbick is ready to start a game like this and with Godders and Kelman out I think Miles has to start hope he can play like he did against Chelsea. McNamara could drop out for Collins at RB might give us the option to move to a back 3 in game if needed - but depends on fitness of the CB's.

TC is flying and has a great fitness record so I'd start him.

Sichenje, Mesik and Knibbs deserve a chance to start.

Ouma needs minutes but is he ready to start a game like this?

    TC Leaburn Alli
    Knibbs
    Cov Mwamba
    Mesik Koumetio Jones Sichenje
    Okonkwo

Brooks, McNamara, Burke, Costello, Doc, Ouma, Carey, Grant, Apter, Mbick (and hope they dont notice the extra sub)

Edit: on reflection I couldnt bear to see Cov-Doc CM again so we are throwing young Alan in to see how he goes!

McNamara too for injury reasons. Sichenje/Burke can play RB, Asiimwe if NJ is feeling really funky
Obviously it’s up to Jones, but post-match West Ham, McNamara said he wants to play against Spurs.
So will Bell but I wouldn't risk him. It's NJ's job to cummincate that to them
    Its his job to WHAT?

No surprise , hearing a weakened team being put out , so some fresh legs and protect a few .
    makes sense
these games mean little but some very good pocket money towards our coffers
as a footballing contest it’s not really happening without a miracle
    “that’s the spirit”
    fuck off

As long as it doesn’t turn into us rolling over and having our tummies tickled, want us to give it a good go whatever team we put out.

For the 1st time in years though that does not mean we are putting the kids out. The players that I presume will be coming in are decent and will have a point to prove. I will be gutted if Ouma doesnt start as I really want to see him play, although if he does I might want him subbed after 10 mins lol

Also need to protect McNamara with Kayne out for many weeks more.
Ah yes, the old dumb logic of ‘you lot are playing really well so you can’t play in this big glamorous cup match, whereas you other lot are shit and not so important as the first lot so you can play in this glamorous cup tie.’

The only logic that Nathan Jones has to use is we have a league game against Preston on Saturday and I can't risk certain players on a Wednesday evening if it affects their ability to be fit and Sharp at the weekend where it's possible for CAFC to go top of the Championship depending on WBA and another team's results.

    Ponder that peeps.
Wrapping players in cotton wool to protect them just increases their vulnerability to injury the next time they play. The strongest team we can put out against Preston is the one we play tonight. Some of those might well not have enough in the tank for a full 90 minutes on Saturday as well but  we have substitutes for that.
What's the science here? To my knowledge, if you overload players, you increase the risk of injury.

Street parking north of Pymmes Park... 25min walk to stadium or hop on train at Edmonton Green or Silver St to WHL.

You can park quite reasonably at the North Middlesex University Hospital and is only about a 20 minute walk - multi story and everything so should be loads of space.

Who said the other lot are “shit”???

Whole point of a SQUAD is to utilise it to the best effect across a season?

It’s your so called logic is dumb, as you would probably be the first to complain if the same eleven players were run into the ground and end up with injuries.

In my view we will lose tonight whatever team we play, so Saturday is far more important than a so-called “glamour” tie.

In NJ we trust, so he will no doubt do some rotation tonight.

Tinker with an already successfully bonding and growing more confident by the game side and if it starts to not go so well from the kick off you will undo everything that’s been achieved so far. We already have momentum from the 3 competitive games we’ve played and won so far. Keep it going, let each player do their bit, they can dig a lot deeper when things are going well.

In an Ideal football world I would agree with you about momentum BUT Charlton's record for players being injured or crooked isn't great.
By near the end of last Season Ramsay, Jones and Bell were all carrying injuries and because of our perilous position had to play or come back too soon because until Hull city at home and the 2 wonder goals we were struggling big time.

As mentioned above, no way can Chalobah, Bell or even Leaburn play too many minutes if at all with their CV's of injuries. Nothing to do with cotton wool as players can get injured in training but everything to do with players 100% ready for Preston.

Of course Danny Spanner wants to play as every pro footballer would at a Premier stadium like Spurs.

Lloyd Jones will probably convince NJ to let him be captain and start !

It's Nathan's Gig and he with the Analysts and Coaches will monitor the data and what he feels in his gut is the best solution to CAFC having 3 games a week until the International break.
100% agree with you, so I find it very odd that some of our fans call our players shit simply because others might be better or in better form.

We need to use the whole squad as that’s the only way the whole squad will get better and develop match fitness.

Especially players like Bell and Chalobah who are iffy to start with, injury wise.

Preston are playing Everton tonight so we should agree with each other that we both go full strength, then there is no advantage to either on Saturday.

You can play basically divide our promotion season into two halves. The first half when Nathan was constantly changing the team around game by game and we were looking at the relegation spots by the time Crawley beat us at home; and the second half when Nathan more or less picked the same starting eleven for every game and we kept winning all the way to Wembley. It’s funny how a winning team can often avoid lots of injuries and a team that’s chopped and changed and plays like it doesn’t know its arse from its elbow as a result of the confusion caused seems to so easily pick them up.

@Braziliance, I parked at the second one listed above for the Hoffenheim friendly a couple of weekends ago because I took my young daughters.  Its safe and secure but we warned you cannot leave directly after the game finishing.  They don't open the car park until after the police end the CPZ (which I wasn't aware of before I booked otherwise I may have made a different choice!)

The game finished at 4:45pm (give or take) and we didn't get moving out of the car park until gone 6:25pm.  Hope that helps!

People are always moaning that we're half arsed in cup competitions, me included. We get a genuine glamour tie and all of a sudden people want Nathan to make wholesale changes cause PNE is more important. Its Spurs away! We absolutely have to go in strong! Only players i'd give a breather to are Bell and Chalobah for obvious reasons. The rest of the team should be as of Saturday if Miles is fit. COYA.

Bell and Chalobah should be rested, that's obvious, but other than that we don't need to drastically change our side. One or two players might drop to the bench, but I can still seem them coming on as subs.

Apart from anything else, they'll want to play tonight. And unlike Preston, who have to travel down to London on Friday, we have been in London all week.

Sichenje, Mesik, Burke, Doc, Knibbs, Mwamba, Ouma, Apter, Mbick could do with some minutes for match sharpness and to show what they're about.

Need to be a little mindful that an injury at right-back or center forward could weaken us quite drastically with Ramsay, Kelman, and Godden out.

Too many changes at once and we are shooting ourselves in the foot, think we will have a bit of a mix, the current 1st teamers will be a bit gutted not playing in this one, well I would be if I were a pro.

Having listened to Gerry Adams on Talksport, this seems like it's being viewed as a bit of a free hit, so expect to see a fairly changed lineup, so maybe Mbick and Mwamba, Collins to start, if there's no Doc or Apter I think it will say a lot about their future.

    Rich Cawley just tweeted:

Managing director Jim Rodwell told talkSPORT that Nathan Jones is "set to rest quite a few" for #cafc's EFL Cup tie at Tottenham.

Also adds that there will be "a few debuts".

Really not too fussed about the result but really hope whatever team is put out does us proud. I am sure they will. 3-1 to Tottenham but think it will only be finished off late.
