NJ clearly rates him highly, in RCs latest article he explained Doc being left out was tactical and says Mwamba’s been truly outstanding.

“That’s a tactical decision,” said the Charlton boss. “The squad depth we have got - Alan Mwamba has been truly outstanding.

Had his kit on and was ready to come on before we went ahead.

That’s a pretty big show of faith. From the tiny bits I saw it looked like we switched to a 5 after so makes sense he sat back down

Very impressive off the bench. Can see him forcing his way into the side if he continues on like it.

Hope that long term contract he signed nine months ago is longer than a couple of years!

Definitely third choice CM for me. Impressed with him and Mbick who many said were out of their depth following the West Ham game.

Can see why he’s ahead of Docherty and should be ahead of Ouma for now

Looks like that physically strong ball playing midfielder jones has been dying for. Was fantastic in his cameo tonight.

Really good cameo.  Sharp in the press,  and some decent forward passes. Looked our best midfielder tonight.

Also Lloyd Jones carrying on at a goal a game.

Much more comfortable with him as back up CM than I was before tonight. Was worried that with Chalobahs injury record and Ouma being a bit of an unknown quantity that we were leaving ourselves short. Not so much anymore. Happy to let Doc go now.

Looked very composed. I’d have him ahead of Ouma and Doc at the moment

Agree with the above - one of the only positives last night. Thought he looked very good indeed. Running with the ball and passing it progressively forward. Looked decent.

Thought he had a very mixed game. But he’s a bottom end L1 player who had to be out of position so that’s to be expected

I think Asiimwe is gash, but thought he was good last night

    Asiimwe had a good game.
I lost count of the times he slipped over. Can see him being a kind of linvoy primus type, late bloomer in his career and a threat from set pieces as well as being able to bomb down the byline

Mwamba’s really looking like he can help add more technical ability to our midfield, while also having the legs to get around the pitch.

Said a while ago on the first page that he was in the Anderson/Cousins mould as an energetic box to box midfielder, but looks like he’s showing he has more to offer on the ball.

Will be exciting to see how he progresses this season, I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes the biggest impact this season out of him, Mbick and Fullah, who are all from the same academy year group.

Even more impressive considering he spent a while out injured last season.

In a very short space of time, I thought he highlighted the absolute gulf of quality, progression and athleticism we've been missing down the middle in recent seasons.

I think Mwamba will turn out to be the best of our current crop of youngun’s, the jewel in the academy crown, he looked really comfortable and brave last night.at this point I’m finding the Mbick hype a bit over the top, Asimwe I think will go on to be a solid lower league player.

Unimpressed when I saw him in his last game but certainly surprised me with how commanding and confident he was in midfield last night.
    Hope for future

Impressive how well he competes physically given he’s still a teenager and not exactly a huge one at that. Mobile, competitive, bit of skill about him. How does Sparrows Lane keep doing it? Imagine what our academy could produce with the protection of Cat 1 Status.

What I found most impressive was when we came on he immediately decided he was the one dictating our play and was the one calling for the ball and starting our attacks.

He won't be ours for long based on this so let's enjoy him whilst we can

The amazing thing is these are the players who don’t get picked off. Credit has to go to them for staying too as they will all have had offers from bigger clubs I’m sure
