Wait and see I suppose but if JRS is off I wonder if we go for McCowatt.

Ultimately right or left footed I think we need someone in with the physicality of Billy as opposed to the technical ability of Bell.

So much of our defensive work is focused around being really compact, and organised, and forcing teams out wide or into angles where they can only really float the ball into our box.

We need another honey monster to gobble those types of balls up.
    Honey monster :)

We need to sign one winger as can’t have Apter playing in the league this season.

You just knew that Burke was injured again when Ronnie said that he was fully fit yesterday.

My Burnley supporting mate reckons they’ve had a bid for JRS accepted yesterday.

If anyone at the club has any management sense at all, they will all sleep on it, and reconvene in the morning as a playing staff, board, and ownership group to discuss the options and what to do next before making any kind of rash decision or cancelling anything.

I highly doubt anyone's sources will know anything because there won't be anything new to know until tomorrow at the earliest. Even Jim Rodwell probably doesn't know for sure what will be done next, yet.

The two injured players won't have even been properly medically assessed yet, apart from anything else.

If people are making decisions and canceling deals at 11 o'clock at night, after an emotional and disappointing evening, then they're not really fit to manage anything.
This with knobs on … the question I ask is what would they be doing if these injuries occurred outside of the transfer window? Answer: they’d just have to get on with it and make best use of existing resources until January. At least we have a few days to get a short term loan in. Yes, it might cost a few bob but it is what it is

We should have let Burke go & kept Gough.
    Who's taking Burke on loan?

So do we think Palace waited for Burnley to up their offer and when we refused to match it that's what led to us "tearing up" the deal?

Think fans need to chill .. no one knows what’s happening or what might happen … there still positives

1- On Saturday apart from the keeper there will be only one change to the starting line up that played in two games
2- any deal can be rescued
3- NJ was told before the game so what happened during the game had nothing to do with the JRS deal
4- it’s happened before the window shuts so we can still do something if it had been next Wednesday ?
5- Edwards , Ramsey and Kelman back in couple of weeks
6 - Billy injury is hamstring 4/6 weeks and most of that will be international break

Sure the club are just as pissed as the fans after a lot of work gone into the deal .. but let’s wait  and see …. Personally think the deal will happen may turn into a loan ??

He's injured 90% of the time. No club in their right mind is taking him

Worth remembering that Nathaniel Chalobah has played as a centre back particularly for England’s youth teams when he was younger
I thought that last night but hope we avoid moving him back. We’d lose too much in midfield.
Especially as it looked like Ouma has trouble kicking a ball.
Didn’t even realise Ouma was on the pitch.

Lots of rumours that Burnley have offered his agent more money .. that might be true or not but at the end of the day JRS can still say no ??

Why would Palarse do a loan deal for a player they'd lose for training compensation next summer??? That would be nonsensical.

He knows that NJ knew about JRS before the game.

He knows that Billy is out for 4-6 weeks despite the fact that he hasn’t even had a scan yet.

He’s saying that Godden or Billy will start on Saturday if there’s only one change to the line-up we had in the first game.

I just knew that JRS having a medical meant f**k all in the grand scheme of things. Knew it was taking way too long.

We’d have to match Burnley’s bid for him first if they’ve offered Palace more money.

Move onto McCowatt, sign Holsgrove, have Chabolah as defensive cover or recall Zach.  Sign Naby Sarr on a free. Loan Wolfenden from Coventry where he doesnt play. Lots of easy options.
