Think fans need to chill .. no one knows what’s happening or what might happen … there still positives

1- On Saturday apart from the keeper there will be only one change to the starting line up that played in two games
2- any deal can be rescued
3- NJ was told before the game so what happened during the game had nothing to do with the JRS deal
4- it’s happened before the window shuts so we can still do something if it had been next Wednesday ?
5- Edwards , Ramsey and Kelman back in couple of weeks
6 - Billy injury is hamstring 4/6 weeks and most of that will be international break

Sure the club are just as pissed as the fans after a lot of work gone into the deal .. but let’s wait  and see …. Personally think the deal will happen may turn into a loan ??

So nobody knows what’s happening but you’ve just told us all what’s happening?

Lots of rumours that Burnley have offered his agent more money .. that might be true or not but at the end of the day JRS can still say no ??
We’d have to match Burnley’s bid for him first if they’ve offered Palace more money.
Not if JRS says no to Burnley, which is what we all need to be hoping for.

Can we risk waiting for that to play out or is Nathan Redmond the back-up plan?

We should have let Burke go & kept Gough.
    Who's taking Burke on loan?
He could be used any medical school to see how you can deal with a footballer who has chipsticks for legs . He’s been a total liability

Worth remembering that Nathaniel Chalobah has played as a centre back particularly for England’s youth teams when he was younger
I thought that last night but hope we avoid moving him back. We’d lose too much in midfield.
Especially as it looked like Ouma has trouble kicking a ball.
Didn’t even realise Ouma was on the pitch.

Neither did I . He did the Amde Faye disappearing trick for the entire time he was on the pitch .

I doubt that’s true . It’s probably more likely that Palace scuppered the deal as he’s needed for cover .

He’s not even been given a squad number. Hes not in their plans in any sense.

Truth of the matter is we don’t really know what’s going on, lots of speculation, think we need to hold tight and hope our powder is still dry. NJ comments have heightened the tension, but wonder if that was a bit of extra performance on top of the disappointment of the injuries, the club have been pretty calculated in what they’ve been doing with signings so I’d expect they have contingency plans in place as they know more than anyone how things can go tits up last minute. As the day goes on I’m sure things will become clearer. The team last night was a bit lambs to the slaughter, the injuries were just fucking bad luck, time for the owners to go that extra yard to protect the investment?

Squad numbers are not the same as the final squad being picked which happens once the transfers window shuts . If bigger premier league sides have ( and are ) picking off Palace’s best players , JRC can be given a squad number to cover . It’s just a theory. Perhaps all these people in the know can actually tell us what’s happening rather than using cryptic comments?

How many more signings you reckon?
  • Whole things a fucking mess.
JRS would’ve been the first player we’ve brought in who would be worth a significant value if performances were good. One good season could’ve meant 15-20 mill.

The alternatives better be good otherwise questions will need to be asked

Isnt saying we will look at defenders instead. All seems like heat of the moment stuff.

ive been away since yesterday 6pm, but seems like carnage in those hours after i have left 😂🙈

The whole cancelled deal thing is a load of bollocks made up by someone of the back of Jones' post match comments. No one knows anything that has commented thus far.

Why would we though, fuming tbh I really thought the rak saki signing was a turning point for us. Gutted
  • Jones done 2 post match interviews last night. The one on the pitch where he's had a chance to calm down is a lot less dramatic.
He loves playing to an audience, let's see what happens next. Its going to be an interesting few days regarding transfers. Let's hope we can get our business done and push on.

Rich using ‘wouldn’t’ rather than ‘won’t’ - again, perhaps reading too much into it but using past tense does make it sound like the JRS deal is off.

I refused to get excited, as I didn’t believe it, until Tuesday, then I got excited and… Charlton did Charlton things. How have I not learnt after all these years …

Agreed. Why the absolute f**k would we cancel it? Mental.

Really does feel a bit of a repeat of the Harvey Knibbs games that we played a year ago.
There is slim chance that Rak-Sakyi is going to be involved on Saturday even if he signed today, as others have mentioned that he's barely had a Pre-Season, so doesn’t matter too much at the moment if he signs today or next week.
Are we playing the game, trying to change the terms, knowing that Palace will want rid of him before the end of the Window, otherwise come January he can talk to clubs outside of England and they lose him for nothing next year, whilst continuing to pay his wages for the year... The only danger if we are playing the game... Is Burnley

Perhaps our money men pulled the plug ? If so, that doesn’t bode well. Again just a theory

Well we actually don’t. There’s a few days left of the window and if JRS won’t join Burnley then Palace are left with us or nothing.
  • For what it’s worth I think NJ is embellishing everything, he’s an emotional man and last night was about diverting attention away from a bad night generally.
He didn’t do anything wrong, but the two injuries to defenders should not change your entire strategy in the last few days of a window. We have cover in the squad and reinforced well - a short term loan solves that issue easily.

He may be making a point to the ownership about providing some more funds to keep early momentum.

To be fair this is pretty mad even by our standards. Get tonked in the cup, suffer two bad injuries and now the most exciting transfer we’ve had in years is off!

Just like the deal was never fully complete, let’s hope that it’s not fully off.

If it’s medical reasons, try and negotiate costs.

If it’s injuries elsewhere, try ask the board for a bit more money.

If it’s agents being silly buggers, but the player wants the move, then ride it out and the player will get his wish eventually.

There’s a few more days left, I’m sure we’ve not finished yet with the peaks and troughs of a transfer window.

Wonder if the deal hit a stumbling block, and we were needing to be patient…

now with injuries, there will be money/budget used up elsewhere which means we can no longer be patient for the JRS deal we had in place and therefore the deal is off.
if anything, it’s potentially due to Burkes Injury (and subsequent cover) rather than Collins/Billy

As usual @Airman Brown seems to hint that he knows why but again is talking in riddles.
