Small hasn't really pushed on like I thought he would. Maybe he went to the wrong club.
No just so overrated by fans he was 1 of 2 only flair players in a squad filled with solid but “boring players”. He could get fans out of seats which are usually the most loved players.

But on the top of that he also came in as a wingback/fullback meaning his end product from wingback/winger was never expected of him which took the pressure off.

Put 3-2 to us on the prediction thread but everything tells me this could be a classic when you think we should win, we don't. We also don't have that much guaranteed firepower action atm with godden and kelman out, Mbick unproven at this level and Alli also unproven. We need that RW piece of the jigsaw to get our starting 11 up where we need it.
Your forgetting our leading scorer..step up Lloyd Jones...

precisely my point in a way - where would we be without his goals?

Even if Bindon has signed and was eligible, will he have had a training session? I think starting Mesik and Bell would be sensible with Bindon on the bench.

Carey, Leaburn and Grant will start chipping in i'm sure but off the bench we don't have too much atm to finish a game off

I don’t get this Spurs result effecting this Saturday.
Our 1st team may have watched it but the result had nothing to do with them. It would have been treated by the club in the same way as they do a pre season match.
They are professionals and would have spent the whole week concentrating on our next game.

"Collins [injury] was serious but Billy's was precautionary"
    "Reece's wasn't anything significant"

Maybe one of them is available?

I won't be at the game tomorrow, but I think 1 nil to us. I am going to do a watchalong of sorts just to keep the content going and I'll do a twitter spaces/podcast after.

Never thought I would say this, but I am genuinely ecstatic to watch us play Preston at home 😂

NJ's presser is great news re Koumetio, and good news re the RW position, Edwards and Kelman  - bad news re Sichenje but we knew that - best of luck to him in his recovery

    Okonkwo.

It's a precautionary move with the added bonus of wrong-footing the oppo - "do what they least expect".

Not the fixture we would like. We just never beat Preston. Have a feeling this will be a close one but no doubt they will nick it and a certain former player will run towards the Covered End giving it to us. 1-0 to Preston.

Difficult fixture,  but I'm expecting a positive reaction after the spuds game,  reassuring clean sheet 2-0.

Am I right in thinking we've played 4 games this season with 4 different goalkeepers ?

Since beating PNE to win promotion in May 1975, Charlton only won 2 of 16 games home and away against them (1 home, 1 away).

So high time we sent 'em packing back to Lancashire with their Northern tails between their legs pointless ain't it...and that's just what will happen....

I wouldn’t be overly suprised to see apter play at some point.
i thought he put on a better performance than Ali on Wednesday. Ease him back into playing and who knows the confidence might return.

Hes out only natural right winger
    That's a low bar.
How high the bar is doesn’t matter. Yes neither were great but Apter did more to justify his place on the bench as an option than Ali did
Alli and Knibbs were pointless - did zilch.

Apter was lightweight and totally ineffective, but he tried.

in my view, none are good enough, but Apter deserves another shot.

Carey is a worry this season - will be interesting to see how he plays tomorrows, assuming he is selected
  • We need to buy another goal scorer. See my post on Aug 14th.
