Seen worse performances... Think Preston when we get to the business end of the season will be rivals that we'll be keeping an eye on - So a draw as things stand isn't the worst scoreline in the world, they've not really troubled us either.
Yes we've not exactly troubled them, but hopefully we can go up a gear yet.
Brownie saying that the Lang header was the best chance of the game, would give that to Leaburn's header.

This is just like watching a game last season.

Keep it tight until 70 mins and then see what happens from there.

Weather is causing 'buffeting' most of that half on my tv

How anyone can do anything when every single thing we do or try to do is very by a foul

    Total joke of game.

If they said sod it call it a draw and we'll just forget about the second half - id take it.

No one really covered themselves in glory that half. So many miscontrols and misplaced passes. Felt like we were still half asleep, like I am waking up early to watch it.

These are beatable if we calm down and play some football.

Weren’t really at the races for 20 minutes or so. Got a bit better as the game wore on, but pretty dire stuff so far. Fortunately Preston look fairly short on quality too, but they’ve contained us in possession well.

Games like this really highlight the need for that creative spark in centre midfield. Someone who can turn away from a man or two in the congested centre and already knows where the space and runners are to send his pass. Any time we’ve been in a bit of a position it’s been too slow.

Leaburn and Campbell, either individually or linking up, look our best chance of creating something so far.

I should have bought a programme.

The bloke in front of me was rollng a joint after 20 mins.

    Carey was particularly pointless.

Lacking in midfield. Coventry dropping deep instead of trying to receive it in the middle.

This half-time/away shirt clip involving how good it is to win a cup probably isn't the best thing to play after Tuesday's surrender.

Been a touch flat but see what happens second half. Continue to be concerned with Carey - just seems he may come up lacking as soon as we try and play some more expansive football.

Have no doubt the plan was JRS, Grant and TC behind the striker

We need someone to drive with the ball. I would swap Mwamba for Carey or even JRC as Carey is doing nothing

One of the most boring halves of football I've ever watched I think

I have to say Grant hasn't played as well as I'd thought. I expected more from him so far this season. He's meant to have that bit of quality we've lacked, not seeing it yet. He's played a couple of lovely passes against wet spam and the opener v Derby, but he's not been that good.

I don't think it helps that Preston are doing every shithouse trick in the book and not getting caught. That 15 for them is a right dirty bastard and needs bringing back into line.

We need better quality going forward though. Carey is anonymous which is a worry, id be tempted to bring Alli on and put Grant in the CAM role.

Preston are pretty shit but as it stands, this is the kinda game where they'll nick a 1-0 late on.

Live table has Wolves and Swansea top two on 7 points, having both finished their games earlier.

Charlton the only other team on 7 as it stands.

Preston are playing like a team who are more concerned with fouling , than creating their own chances in the first half. Poor football was the result, as every time someone has an opportunity the game is stopped.

Playing on the right doesn't suit him. He hasn't got the pace to beat his man and whip crosses in consistently, but he's also on the wrong foot to create anything on the inside.

That was turgid.  So compressed, Preston look like they are more prepared for how the game is being played out, without being too impressive.  So little room and time.  Ref has been kind to them, they should have had a few yellow cards for blatant pulls, when he actually blew for fouls.

They want a reaction - they want us to get irritated and lash out.

Jones best have a word -

This is where a quality number 10 is such a gap for us.

    Someone to unlock this

I ain’t given up on Knibbs yet, but wouldn’t have minded seeing Ibby Fullah on the bench today. He’s the kind of player who might come on and do something to crack open a compact defence. Maybe that’s Mwamba today. I’d like to think it could be Ouma but is he fit and sharp enough yet?

It wasn't the most exciting I've ever seen but it wouldn't feature in the top 100 most boring halves either.

Played a couple of decent balls in behind, one for TC outside of the foot that was cut out by a Preston player. Least when he got on the ball he can control it ATM compared to Carey.

I think one of the main problems is Leaburn winning a lot in the air but no-one anywhere near him like on Wednesday with Mbick, as Grant is dropping deeper and deeper to try and get on the ball more

I suppose it's hard when you've played a cup game on wed. Tired I guess 🤷‍♂️
