Some harsh comments about Preston.  If I was an away fan,  I'd be very happy with them. Lots of pressing, and giving us no time on the ball.

I ain’t given up on Knibbs yet, but wouldn’t have minded seeing Ibby Fullah on the bench today. He’s the kind of player who might come on and do something to crack open a compact defence. Maybe that’s Mwamba today. I’d like to think it could be Ouma but is he fit and sharp enough yet?
Pretty sure Fullah is injured, that's why the MK Dons loan has pretty much gone dead. Fully agree however

Live table has Wolves and Swansea top two on 7 points, having both finished their games earlier.

Charlton the only other team on 7 as it stands.
If it happens it won’t last and will be meaningless, but would be nice to look at a table that has us clear top. Must be 15 years now since we were last in that position?

I suppose it's hard when you've played a cup game on wed. Tired I guess 🤷‍♂️

It's funny that Mesik is probably the player that's covered the most ground and he played the game.

This is why i didnt agree with 10 changes midweek as it affects momentum

Weren’t really at the races for 20 minutes or so. Got a bit better as the game wore on, but pretty dire stuff so far. Fortunately Preston look fairly short on quality too, but they’ve contained us in possession well.

Games like this really highlight the need for that creative spark in centre midfield. Someone who can turn away from a man or two in the congested centre and already knows where the space and runners are to send his pass. Any time we’ve been in a bit of a position it’s been too slow.

Leaburn and Campbell, either individually or linking up, look our best chance of creating something so far.
Can I be the first to say get Otto Tiitinen on?
    Yeh!
    Get our Titinen out!

Give it a rest for fuck sake
  • I should have bought a programme.

The bloke in front of me was rollng a joint after 20 mins.

    Carey was particularly pointless.
You shouldn't have let him into your house

Chalobah makes me nervous despite his obvious qualities….. always seems to drop a ball short every other time

I have to say Grant hasn't played as well as I'd thought. I expected more from him so far this season. He's meant to have that bit of quality we've lacked, not seeing it yet. He's played a couple of lovely passes against wet spam and the opener v Derby, but he's not been that good.
Playing on the right doesn't suit him. He hasn't got the pace to beat his man and whip crosses in consistently, but he's also on the wrong foot to create anything on the inside.
That's why Rak Saki would make such a difference.
He could play on the right and Grant could replace Carey in a more central position.

Interesting to see who for. Could it Carey with Grant play as a 10/second striker? Or are we matching them in a 352?

Chalobah and Coventry both sitting deep in possession.  We need one of them to find space in the middle of the pitch.  I assume that is Chalobahs role but it shows we are still missing. that box to box midfielder

Would rather have seen Mwamba, Ouma or even Knibbs or JRC on before Alli personally, but I'll trust in NJ for now

This is Alli / Grant's chance to impress, might not be a good thing for Sonny here

The Carey doubters get their wish… but it was Knibbs they wanted.
