COVENTRY: 9 he is very good player. Now finally get a bit of credit. Reads the game well so well, how often when corners break down or cleared he picks it up. Some of his paces between the full backs and CB have been class, send TC on his way.
CHALOBAH: 6 few times got caught on the ball or misplaced passes. But brings class and comfort level to midfield
CAMPBELL 6.5 not as good as last few weeks. Shooting when better options or not beating his man. But wonder if that was a tactic to cross but earlier today
CAREY: 4 feel for him, he is struggling because we are passing the ball. Last year, was such a success, as he was winning the 2nd ball. Just not happening.
GRANT: 7 looks like something will happen when he gets the ball. That bit of quality is what we have missed. Match winner
LEABURN: 9 unplayable today, put it in where it hurts. He deserved a game today. Good start to the season.
ALLI: 8 changed the game, I actually thought he did well against spurs. But today very good and direct.
MWAMBA: 7.5 if we are lucky enough to keep him for a couple of seasons we will be in the premier league. He reminds me of the way he plays. When Scott Parker burst on to the scene
MBICK: 5 lacking confidence I would say at the mo. Big boy

CAMPBELL - 7.5 - skinned Harry Clarke repeatedly and worked really hard to win the ball back when we were out of possession
CAREY: 5 - struggled to impact the game with a very congested midfield in the first half
GRANT: 7.5 - his move to a more central role, coupled with Alli’s introduction on the right, turned the game firmly in our favour. He has developed into a highly intelligent footballer and his goal and his cross for Lloyd’s equaliser against Derby are the moments of class we’ve been missing
LEABURN: 8.5: MoTM - put in a tremendous and very skilful shift, giving Preston’s central defenders a very tough afternoon. Hopefully he can notch the goal his efforts have deserved this season next week
ALLI: 7.5 - a highly impressive cameo. Like all wingers, he’s probably inconsistent, but he really did the business today
MWAMBA: 8 - he looks a real player
MBICK: 6 - only on at the death
ASSIMWE: 6 - ditto

Referee: 7 - pretty impressive. He let a few of Preston’s players get away with persistent fouling but didn’t fall for their trick of falling over and trying to buy free kicks by grabbing the ball.

McNAMARA: 7.5 solid, calm, composed. Has that aggressive trait that I like. Isn’t afraid to put someone in the advertisement hoardings

MESIK: 7.5 grew into the game. First half some sloppy play, but that ironed out in the second half. Some crunching tackles and linked up well with TC. Clever ball into Mwamba who could have scored from it
BELL: 7 solid again. Still makes me nervous when he messes around on the ball
COVENTRY: 7 improved second half. Sped up his passing. Work horse
CHALOBAH: 7 improved second half. Some sloppy passes in the first half. Hopefully not injured
CAMPBELL 7.5 I like it when he starts on the right and switches to the left… catches the opposition by surprise
CAREY: 6 can be considered the weak link, but probably because the rest of the team have improved drastically. He didn’t have a bad game, he just had a quiet game
GRANT: 8 the entire team improved when he went in the ten. Glad he scored
LEABURN: 9 MOM. Bullied their defenders. Won us fouls up the pitch. Held it up, took it down on his chest… just a brilliant performance all round. A full pre season has done him wonders. He looks fitter, stronger, and more intelligent
ALLI: 7.5 caused them so many issues
MWAMBA: 7.5 some neat balls through. So calm. The excitement we have for him is like the excitement we had for Karoy in L1. Looks at home in the midfield, and I would start him on Wednesday if Chalobah isn’t fit

MESIK: 8 - Likes to get forward and made some good runs in first half.
BELL: 8 - So classy in possession, toys with his man, twisting & turning one way then the other.
COVENTRY: 7 - Fantastic ball to Alli in build up to goal.
CHALOBAH: 8 - His ability to take a pass when surrounded by their players makes him stand out from our other central midfield options. Can quickly move the ball on with a flick when necessary. Just hope he can stay fit.
CAMPBELL 7.5 - Better on the left, but needs to work on crossing with left foot. Looks like he's enjoying his football at the moment, which is great to see.
CAREY: 6 - Rightly subbed at HT. Really hasn't started the league season well.
GRANT: 7.5 - Terrible free kick just before he scored, but he looks a threat at times.
LEABURN: 8.5 - Deserved a goal today, really put a shift in.
ALLI: 7.5 - Some excellent first touches to kill the ball dead.
MWAMBA: 8 - We have a player on our hands here.
MBICK: 6.5 - Clearly has something about him, but I feel a L1 season loan would be best for him.

CAREY: 5 - didn't affect the game at all. Hopefully he refinds last season's form
GRANT: 8.5 - Great goal and got into some promising positions at other times
LEABURN: 8.5 - battled so well with no protection. His hold up play - off his chest and holding off the defender - was impeccable today
ALLI: 8 - impressive performance plus assist! Looks like he could be a decent option after all!
MWAMBA: 7.5 - so energetic and played a peach through to Leaburn. Any time he lost the ball he got it back. This kid is the real deal!
