Riis would be a good signing imo. A good championship player. As good as leaburn is, an injury to him would be very damaging given Godden’s injury record too. Would be surprised if we don’t bring a striker in as not sure Mbick is ready just yet
When is Kelman back? Would be pretty unlucky if Leaburn, Kelman and Godden were all out at the same time but knowing Charlton it’s entirely possible!
It sounds like he’ll be back fairly soon, after the international break at the latest.

It’s really tempting to see current holes in the squad due to injury and say we need to sign players. It sounds like most of the squad will be available after that break though. As mad as it sounds when we’re 3 wins out of 3 but we kind of need to just limp through to the break with a couple of signings and then we’ll look so strong
Yes, I really don't see the need for a FOURTH over 21 person to play a single position (No 9) in the squad. I don't see why we can't play Knibbs there in the meantime, seeing that his main assets are his strength and nuisance value in the box, plus an eye for goal.

Miles and Matty have had their recent injury woes that have kept them sidelined for months at a time. Matty is now also 35 and will be more susceptible to picking up injuries. I doubt he could be expected to play twice a week for months either. Kelman has I suppose a freak injury with his shoulder but once you’ve dislocated a shoulder it’s always slightly weaker. Grant is versatile but I don’t think he covers an injury to Leaburn for any length of time. I’d say we’re definitely short of a striker.

He basically pinned/liked a comment that said ‘can someone tell Rak Sakyi’s agent to have a day off’ This fuels the idea that the agent is the problem.
  • I think he said "Who pinned this?", and unpinned it right after.
Might of just been an accident or he's being a bit cheeky.

Think it was more of like "Oops, I accidentally pinned this" kind of response. Could mean anything though.

Is it me or have I been transported to another planet where young men talk in code and can't string a coherent sentence together.

And don't get me onto likes & heart emojis.

Riis looks like the Ahadme replacement we've so desperately needed.
I’m certainly not advocating on behalf of Riis but he’s clocked up 216 Championship appearances as far as I can see and scored 50 goals. Not prolific but certainly doesn’t deserve to be equated to Ahadme.

We had two CBs pull up at the same moment against Spurs. With Charlton anything is possible. Think the current system fits a big strong player like Leaburn rather than a kelman ir Godden too. So Riis fits the bill
It’s precisely the system Kelman thrived in for Orient. We’d just need to play it long a bit less or use Grant as the target
Grant isn’t a target and Kelman had creative players behind in Agyei, Donley, Galbraith, O’Neill etc. Grant Carey Alli and TC are attacking threats but they’re not players who’s going to play beautiful through balls for Kelman to latch on to or pinpoint low crosses, the only player in our entire squad capable of that is probably JRC just a shame he’s ridiculously slow and not got much of an engine

Language changes/evolves all through generations. This is again true today especially due to social media where many shorten speech and use emojis for speed. I’m not always a fan but it’s exactly what I’d expect to see on a social media platform from a younger person.

I still think we need a CF.  Leaburn is injury prone and for as well as he has played recently, we need our CF to score some in this league and he hasn’t done that yet so there is some risk there. Our two primary backups are injured and both are probably better suited for being in a two person front line instead of as lone strikers. We are playing a 19 year old inexperienced forward as our primary backup.  While Riis might not be the perfect answer, an experienced starting forward for between 1-2 million is a bargain in the championship.  That being said I am not sure he is going to want to got to side where he isn’t a guaranteed starter.

I don't think I've seen Golfie use emojis?

Are you confusing him with @eastterrace6168 by any chance?

To be fair to @FishCostaFortune I do use a few emojis like the ones above. But usually to show that the post is tongue-in-cheek or ironic.

Where would knibbs go? Shows how bad the £13m was last summer only kelman.
Yep. You’re relating to the team that were one of the favourites for relegation and survived.

Can someone translate this for me.  I don’t speak curmudgeon.
Fortunately for Golfie, there's a web site that translates English into emoji.  So "Don't get me started" is 🚫🗣️🎨🧐

    https://www.emojiall.com/en/emoji-translator-page

👂🗣️⚽🏃‍♂️🥅🏟️  (The best rumour you'll hear today!)

Oh and it does emoji into English.

I am pretty sure a professional footballer on a decent contract has others also working on their social media (maybe as well as themselves) so might not even be Campbell.
