Is it quiet as it's a bank holiday and not your typical monday?0

If cannot get a fee for Kanu then do what Hammers did with Coventry and free transfer with 50% sell on

Would presume you're right, but maybe someone who can do the 10 as well as serving as a striker might be appealing? Not sure if DKD is all that mind youCallumcafc said:FLW so can be safely ignored presumably

What if Kanu says no thanks, I’d prefer a free transfer next season?ross1 said:If cannot get a fee for Kanu then do what Hammers did with Coventry and free transfer with 50% sell on1 -
Mwamba can do thatCrispywood said:
Grant isn’t a target and Kelman had creative players behind in Agyei, Donley, Galbraith, O’Neill etc. Grant Carey Alli and TC are attacking threats but they’re not players who’s going to play beautiful through balls for Kelman to latch on to or pinpoint low crosses, the only player in our entire squad capable of that is probably JRC just a shame he’s ridiculously slow and not got much of an enginefenaddick said:
It’s precisely the system Kelman thrived in for Orient. We’d just need to play it long a bit less or use Grant as the targetfollett said:
We had two CBs pull up at the same moment against Spurs. With Charlton anything is possible. Think the current system fits a big strong player like Leaburn rather than a kelman ir Godden too. So Riis fits the billse9addick said:
When is Kelman back? Would be pretty unlucky if Leaburn, Kelman and Godden were all out at the same time but knowing Charlton it’s entirely possible!follett said:Riis would be a good signing imo. A good championship player. As good as leaburn is, an injury to him would be very damaging given Godden’s injury record too. Would be surprised if we don’t bring a striker in as not sure Mbick is ready just yet1 -
I’d be tempted to get Conor Coady in the door as a player / coach personally. Reckon he’d do an excellent job mentoring the likes of Mwamba, Fullah and others.4

The article on the OS says he’s in contract until 2028?

Did they really not announce this? I can't imagine so many fans moaning about the fee would have missed it if so?Callumcafc said:https://www.cafc.co.uk/news/daniel-kanu-joins-notts-county-loan“Kanu remains under contract with the club until 2028, having signed an extension in the summer of 2025.”12 -
not on a live stream thoBalladMan said:
I am pretty sure a professional footballer on a decent contract has others also working on their social media (maybe as well as themselves) so might not even be Campbell.JustCharlton said:I think he said "Who pinned this?", and unpinned it right after.
Might of just been an accident or he's being a bit cheeky.0 -
Wonder if we triggered something this summer when it was clear our valuation wouldn’t be me2
-
Dont remember that extension being announced last year, but good we won't lose him on a free next summerWonder then why it took so long to find him a loan move, even if the intention was to sell1
-
The original announcement of his contract (2024) says it’s until 2027

Wondered if he’d signed a new deal before going out on loan to Walsall but nothing in the announcement about it

Well that changes things massively. Quite happy we’ve just sent him on loan rather than sold him. Interesting to see how he does in league 1 and then we can re-assess next summer45
-
He would be okay I guess if you just wanted him as someone who can cover a few positions in a pinch. But wouldn't see it as an exciting or progressive transfer compared to someone like Rak-Sakyi.BigDiddy said:

The £1m fee makes more sense now too28

I think we will see eight players move (in or out) before 11pm tomorrow. The fax will be smoking.ShootersHillGuru said:I very much doubt anything is going to happen today. The final day of the window is traditionally a damp squib for us Charlton fans but we live in hope.1 -
This now makes a lot more sense all around with the contract situation.3
-
Ok great move for Kanu. Where are we now with squad registration limit? I know some of you have live spreadsheets going1
-
As said, all makes sense now. The Club would have saved about 30 pages on this thread if they’d announced that when signed. A loan is best for him, and us. If he has a good season we’ll either get a decent fee next summer or he comes back into the squad, which I think unlikely but we’ll see.9

Despicable isn't it... the club and CL Towers in cahoots so the latter get more Ad Revenue for their quarterly piss upLargeAddick said:As said, all makes sense now. They chose not to announce that extension last summer for some unknown reason.Garrymanilow said:

I literally looked up Kanu's contract article yesterday just to be sure and it said 2027. No mention of an optional extra year.0
