Notts loan confirmed. Article also states he’s out of contract in 2028, not at the end of the season like everyone had previously thought.

So was this extension last summer announced by the club for a further year?
No announcement of last summers deal anywhere

Haven’t seen / found an article announcing the extension he supposedly signed last summer. But it’s a very pleasant surprise that he has.

Another good season in League One and he could come into the picture for us next year in the Championship.

I’m sure Cawley was talking about this being the last chance to get a fee this summer too. Clearly kept everyone in the dark

Probably be too big a jump, but can probably loan him to a minor Championship club such as Millwall or the newly relegated Surrey lot

Now I don’t have to change my CL profile pic either : -)

Though I am still heartbroken over Karoy…

A very secret clause that triggered an extra year that Jim Rodwell made up yesterday

If Kanu doesn't sign a contract then we won't lose him on a free. We will still be due to get a fee under the development rules. So whilst a new contract may be a struggle, give him half a season on loan or as a 4th/5th choice striker and then reevaluate in Jan.
we’d likely get something like 150k from the development fee if you sell him now you’re guaranteed half a million at minimum and a sell on.

We would be silly to not have his contract or future sorted past this summer
    You were saying?

(Though no-one seems to have known, so hopefully someone has told Kanu.)

Good move for him and us.

I still think he could have a future with us.

Will watch his progress at County with interest.

Odd that the contract situation wasn't known. Not sure why the club would let that happen.

I know people don’t want to hear it, but I think he will playing at his maximum level, don’t see him being consistently good enough for the championship, hope he does make it higher up the leagues as he gives his all, but not certain that’s enough. Good luck DK.

Club are really trying their best to not give us anything to complain about this summer fantastic he’s signed a new deal could have saved us millions in the long run
  • Great news that he still has 2 yrs left.  Perfect loan as if he is a successful his value increases and either he comes back to us to play or we get more £.

I like Notrs County too so hope he fires plenty for them
