Window Closing Tomorrow... How Would You Feel?

If when the transfer window closes tomorrow we have made no further signings or departures, where would you stand?

  1. Disappointed – Feels like a missed opportunity to strengthen key areas and move on a few players who don't look part of the plans.
  2. Fuming – Not good enough. We should be doing more to improve the squad before the window shuts.
  3. Happy enough – The business already done has been solid and I trust the board and management team to know what's needed.
  4. Accepting – I can live with it, provided we keep hold of our key players and don't lose anyone important.
  5. Cautiously optimistic – The squad looks competitive as it is, and I'd rather avoid panic buys for the sake of it.
  6. Undecided – Depends on how the team performs over the next few weeks. Ask me again after 5–10 games.

Interested to see where everyone stands on this one.

    I would have added a shocked bracket as it would mean we were paying 3/4 players whom we couldn’t register, if there were no departures. 
    I’m somewhere between 3 and 4. 

    I actually think we’ll see around 7 deals done tomorrow. I reckon a few are already done.

    It's not players allowed it's players registered.

    3/4, but understand the injuries to the CBs have forced our hand somewhat.

    It’s got to be six at this stage as you can only really judge transfer windows in hindsight. 

    The first three matches (let’s ignore Spurs) have been well above expectations and a joy to behold. However I worry we may give ourselves into a false assessment of how good/strong/deep this squad is in August which we come to rue between September and January.

    done too much to be disappointed or fuming but likewise I don’t think we’ve sorted every issue to be incredibly optimistic

    Probably 4 just because I'd be worried about the development of Asiimwe and...Apter maybe? Whoever those two who miss out are. But I think early results show this to have been a successful window as judged to this point. Right now we have a bit of an injury crisis and we have dedicated players to fill in in all the roles where we have injuries (RB, CB, LB, CM, ST). That's more than could be said for last year. Another injury or two puts us in trouble, but I think that's true of pretty much every team in this division. And you can only have 25 players plus youth teamers.

    Yeah, somewhere between happy and accepting. From what I've seen the team is better now than I thought it would be. Slight concerns about how we'll look when we pick up a few more injuries, but you can never fully mitigate against that. I reckon the club have done well.

    I'd like the winger to upgrade on Apter, (plus I'm assuming that we'll sell/loan players to reduce us to 25) but really 5, as I'm happy with our squad as it is. 

    We have a very competitive side, despite the injuries, and have immediately reacted to cover the one long term injury Sichenje.

    I don't want us signing players on perm deals if we're not 100% certain its right. If we have money left over, then so be it, we can spend it in January instead. Much better that than wasting another £1.5m on a player who's not good enough, and then clutters the squad up going forward.

    But its all immaterial as we will need to offload a couple of players  anyway. No way will we not have them around not registered.

    And with that going the case it might then be.....
