Wendelken did well to battle through qualifying. I think they were all 3 setters.hoof_it_up_to_benty said:
Choinski and Jones also in action.thickandthin63 said:A decent day for the brits Fery plays today, tough opponent but he can do it
Wendelken lost his first round match last night.0 -
Hopefully his initial isn’t A.LenGlover said:Jack Duckworth retired against Fery in the second set having lost the first. Fery in the final against a player with the surname Buse.1 -
Fery Lost 6-3 6-3 7-50

Shame he had to play the 13th seed so soon. Fearnley was a lucky loser from qualifying had a better drawfenaddick said:Fery Lost 6-3 6-3 7-5
APart from looking rushed, which I've not seen with Fery before, he didn't play badly but was outclassed by an on form Musetti, who has been ranked as high as 5
Hopefully Fery's game and resilience will develop as he plays more of the top players0 -
Francesca Jones wins her opening round in three sets. Boulter loses her second round match in straight sets.
Choinski loses his opening round in straight sets. Samuel and Fearnley both lost in the second round.
No men remaining in the draw. Dart and Jones both in the second round in the women's.0 -
Dart and Jones both lost in straight sets in the second round.
No further British interest- not a great week.0 -
Anyone know why Fery (and his partner) didn't play the next round of the doubles?0
-
Cash and Glasspool in the last 16 of the doubles as are Patten, Salisbury and Skupski with their various foreign partners.1

US Open scheduling is so daft - starting the tie.of the round (Shelton v Alvarez) after 11pm so half the audience have probably switched it off and gone to sleep is illogical.
Wimbledon curfew at 11pm makes a lot more sense.

Also, I wouldn't like to be leaving the stadium at 4am or whatever in the middle of Queens.
I've seen The Warriors, I don't want to be mugged by a group of mimes, or guys with bare chests and John Virgo waistcoats.2 -

Shelton takes out Alcaraz in a final set championship tie break. Didn't see that coming. An all American semi final with Tiafoe the reward.0

Neil Skupski and his USA partner Harrison in the doubles final against the German pair that defeated Cash and Glasspool.1

Anyone know why Fery and his partner didn't play their second round doubles?0

I don’t know for sure but Fery has suffered a similar arm issue to Draper in the past so perhaps it was preventative.PrincessFiona said:Anyone know why Fery and his partner didn't play their second round doubles?0 -
Yes, he has and maybe but I really hope not (of course) but then why enter? They did well in their first roundLenGlover said:

They did and Arthur won singles matches too so perhaps the combination of matches was deemed enough.PrincessFiona said:

He reached the Cincinnati final the week before which may not have been expected when planning his schedule.0

Unfortunately he didn't win his first round singles in the USO (unlucky draw!) but maybe the previous tournament took its toll, but they still played the first round match rather than withdraw completely?LenGlover said:

As I said I don’t know but was just speculating as to possible reasons.PrincessFiona said:
