Only if they're registered.DamoNorthStand said:More concerning is that none of Doc and Apter seem to be generating any interest if the lack of rumours is anything to go by.
Clearly both out of favour so taking up a squad space and wage budget for no contribution. Thats hurting us.
Biggest reason if nobody else comes in.0 -
As it’s an academy loan and he won’t be registered to play for the first team, I don’t think the usual restrictions applyScoham said:
I don’t think he can be signed outside the window as loans are window to window. If it’s happened perhaps it’ll be announced this week, and as he’d be an u21 signing it won’t get all the social media fanfare like first team signings do.LTKapal said:Did we work out if Otto is an outside wi doe signing or not?0 -
I wouldn’t necessarily put all of my faith into AI answers, but apparently all loans count toward the cap:NabySarr said:

Which is interesting in itself, as does that mean we can play someone tonight then de-register them straight after? Like name Doc in the 20, don't register him and sell him on Thursday to Aberdeen?stoneroses19 said:
We have to register the final squad by end of today.Addickforlife said:Probably a stupid question, but how and when do we see which 25 players have been registered?0 -
I did say "rather", not "would", in response to someone saying they'd not register Edwards...king addick said:
That's a wind up surely?SteveACS said:
I think I'd rather not register Bell. Good player, but regular muscle injuries. Edwards just gets crocked.WoolwichAddick said:In terms of outgoings. No one has mentioned Edwards? Would he not be suited to a loan to Scotland? Home comforts, we’ve got two left backs in the building, and needs time playing first team football to get back up to speed.0 -
Which is still bonkersSteveACS said:

They only count to the cap if you register them though, we won't register himse9addick said:

He does love playing there14 -
When exactly does the list of squad players have to be set with the EFL.0
-
Hypotheticals etc etc, but...
Everyone was obsessed with the final spend this window, but the aim was to move up a quartile in quality for as little money as possible. At this point I think we’ve done that, and it’s not mad to look at this squad and think it’s decent value for around 15th.
We haven’t maxed out the budget. If we’re below 15th in January, we can strengthen and try to secure league status. If we’re around 15th or above and the play-offs (now 8th) look within reach, we’ve got money left to have a go.
Either way, it’s nice to have a decent-looking squad and still have something left in the tank.

15th MEH! We are challenging play offs!2

The big shift this year is a lot of our signings have had previous Championship (or higher) experience.
Okonkwo
McNamara Bindon
Skipp Chalobah
Grant Alli
compared to the previous summer
Kaminski
Bell Burke
JRC
Apart from TK they are still here and the rest of the squad already have a season in the Champo.
We don’t have any particular star signings but we know NJ can get them fighting as a team who will grind out results. I think the first three games have been kind to us, Preston and Derby look like teams that will struggle this year. West Ham are still adjusting, who knows how long that will take. WBA will be much stiffer opponents.
Despite this, it’s an optimistic time and NJ has a knack of outperforming his resources.
Big thanks to the ITKs, you gave this thread a meaningful reason to read, after the fish puns of course. Ignore the idiots who want you to release names and every other detail. I mean how dense must you be to think you could release all the information and still get the info in the future, and would likely compromise the actual deals happening.10 -
To be fair could the recall of Laqeretabua mean we might actually not register Burke until January possibly rather than pay up his contract and then re-assess? Do we know roughly how long Burke is already injured for?cabbles said:If we assume Doc is definitely off, Collins not registered, the only options I can think of is Apter/Knibbs (whichever) moving abroad to a league where the window is still open (maybe Scotland like mentioned for Doc).People might shout this one down straight away, but do the club pay up Burke and take the hit? Financially not great, and we’re short at CB, but with a year left, and his record, he’s not going to add anything- I’m wondering if it’s best to cut ways now0 -
End of today I believe.Hartleypete said:When exactly does the list of squad players have to be set with the EFL.0 -
I do think Josh has been recalled for a reason, which must be due to his age.MartinCAFC said:

NJ number juggling...0 -
I would like to say I was wrong about the owners and Jones. Last season I said that Jones should be replaced but him and Chappell have worked wonders with not a huge amount spent. Also we have improved on the pitch. We have more flair and are playing less hoofball and more footballl.18

Why would he be going to the National League? We’re talking about potential January moves.Leuth said:
Would be crushingly harsh on Knibbs, who's a thoroughly professional and untroublesome player. Off you trot to the National League, Harvey. Not niceThe Red Robin said:

The latter will rebuild his fitness with the U21s until Jan.
So come January when we want to register Collins and Edwards who are we getting rid of then ? We will still need to sell or loan out 2 players to register these 2.0 -
Happy with the window.
Shame about JRS but hopefully he’s not too affected by all the alleged shenanigans with agents & medical. Still a player I’d like to see on the RW.3 -
Assume this will be the last one from me in this window - Doc has gone.Great servant to the club and an all around top bloke. All the best Greg 🫡68

Fair play to you for saying so honestly, last seasons Jonesball was a tough watch but if we manage to keep the new and improved version then we can hopefully only see better football as we grow.DennisBooth said:I would like to say I was wrong about the owners and Jones. Thank you for your work this summer mate. See you in Januarystjohnshill said:Assume this will be the last one from me in this window - Doc has gone.Great servant to the club and an all around top bloke. All the best Greg 🫡24 -
IMO that was an impressive window.
New contracts for our star players and an improvement in quality and experience imported. (not forgetting an impressive group of youngsters knocking on the door!)
When the majority of our injured players are available again I feel we will be very hard to beat and hopefully provide a more exciting level of performance on match days.
Only disappointment was JRS. (Maybe next January?)
Anticipating a great season ahead.4 -
Reading that has made me a bit sad, obvious choice etc but that’s a proper pro there, hopefully got a decent send off behind the scenes.stjohnshill said:Assume this will be the last one from me in this window - Doc has gone.Great servant to the club and an all around top bloke. Leave it to January, he will have time to sort out the Agent issues, we can offer him another deal, pay him a decent signing on fee for a pre contract, and bin Palace and his agent off!kodfish said:Happy with the window.

.... I realise that this may not actually be possible...1 -

Sad to see Docherty leave, along with Gillesphey sees our Wembley captain and Wembley goal scorer both leave this window. As ruthless as ruthless gets this window.stjohnshill said:Assume this will be the last one from me in this window - Doc has gone.Great servant to the club and an all around top bloke. Hopefully gets the deserved recognition for his service when his departure is announced.13 -
The 25 man squad limit does seem to have been a real issue for us this summer, and if we do want to do business in January, unless we have another "out for the season" injury, so the player can be deregistered, there will need to be further exits just to get the numbers down.
Indeed at the moment, Mbick's age is making him extra attractive to us other clubs. Apart from his obvious quality and potential, he's U21 not just for this season, but also next season, so not counted in the 25 until season 28/29.0 -
