    I really like Mesik. Great cross for the goal, and an under appreciated contribution by Leaburn who monstered their centre back, which set up Campbell for a sitter.

    WBA are a very good football team.
    Styles especially outstanding. 
    We are very tough to break down and score against.
    Okonkwo is a significant improvement on Kaminski. Very calm and assured. 
    Good debut from Bindon. 
    Excellent from Coventry.  
    Solid team performance. 
    Slightly fortunate but hey. 
    Good ref.
    Unbeaten this season home and away.

    @Sword65pf Survival must always be the first objective. That was Curbs mantra and I’m happy to stick with that. Once those “enough points” are on the board we can start looking for more. Eighth place opens up a whole new perspective this season and I’d like to think we can nudge it but for now I’m happy we’ve already gone some way to retaining our Championship status.

    Got to be happy with that. 
    Debutants and a few tired legs but we still managed to dig out a result from a very handy side. 
    That said, I do think West brom got some huge rubs of the green. 
    That clearance header from Binden could've landed anywhere but it landed with perfect precision right to the goal scorers feet.
    This happened a lot throughout the game.
    On another night we would've nicked all 3.

    Fast forward six months and we have ourselves another 1 1 draw where we didn't play especially well but the entire mindset of our players feels different. They're more comfortable in possession, they have the requisite quality to compete at this level and I believe all the players we are putting on the pitch this season are Championship level players. We couldn't say that when we were last at WBA.

    I saw a comment from an Albion fan about our low turnout tonight. Less than 1,000 isn't great and if you went by train like I did then it's Euston in the early hours then an Uber. This isn't  a cheap hobby. I'd have loved us to have taken more but those that were there made a decent noise. More of the same from the hardy souls heading to Stoke on Saturday morning. See you there.

    A great point on the Road from a poor performance,  fortunately WBA from all their possession and passing could not do much.

    Not much to say that hasnt already, not the most glamourous of games but a well organised show from us, its a great point away from home to a decent footballing side - cant argue with that. West Brom were good and will be there abouts the playoffs come the end of the season.

    Subs changed the game as well as the formation change, wouldnt be against 532 away from home as our default starting formation, especially against the better sides in the division. 


    Shout outs to

    Okonkwo - made it all look a bit easy which makes a nice change for us in terms of keepers recently, was a bit meh sideways step when he signed and the comments form some Disney fans backed that up - but he's made a couple of appearances for us now and I really dont see those issues they were going on about.

    JRC - Like him, been fighting his corner since his first sub appearance last season - he's a tidy well experienced Champ footballer, No he isn't going to run around busting a bollock for 90+, no he isn't pinging Hollywood balls around and no he isn't breaking into the box and scoring screamers every other game - but he is going to more often than not - make the right pass and pop up in a good position because thats what 140 odd championship games has taught him.


    10 points from 4 games and unbeaten in the league, great start, better than I expected for sure!

    If they aren’t happy with their expensive new keeper in January I’m sure they’ll just go out and buy a new one rather than recall their third choice.

    Have to admit I think I'm one of the few who didn't see the West Brom goal coming... Yes they were putting us under pressure with their passing, but that was no different to the rest of the game... They reminded me of one of those Barcelona like teams vs. Chelsea in the Champions League SF a few years ago, when they just kept passing it along the edge of the box trying to find an opening... and ultimately got punished for their lack of bravery to do something different.
    There wasn't an occasion last night where I puffed out my cheeks in reliefs thinking: "Jesus Okonkwo is having to make endless saves to keep us in this" (Yes he made one or two, not to take that away from him) - Its why I felt a draw was a fair result, and didn't feel a smash and grab, given West Brom's defensive fragilities I felt there was always an opportunity for us... Just a shame that the subs happened after the goal, instead of being able to make them beforehand.
    Overall felt that it was credit to both sides, given how far we've each come from where we finished the season, and you'd hope in our case, would probably expect it more with West Brom, that neither side should really find themselves in the position that we were each in a couple of months ago.

    Just look at Leaburn's improvement this year and Mbick is much younger. 
    Jones and other clubs can see the potential?
    He has the physicality and is learning about how much quicker abd stronger this league is and the need for a good first touch and how to see a space.
    Jones would not have him in the team unless he could see his obvious rapid potential.
    He would have loaned him out again?
    Hope he gets the minutes......

    Good night for us, a hard fought well earnt point to the total, and still undefeated, on we go to Stoke where I am confident we can come home with another 3 points, one thing I will say is that the corner that lead to their goal, the ball looked like it went out of play before coming back into the area, just from the angle i saw?
    But what a well worked goal for TC to add to his total, well done lads, and a shout out for the 700+ traveling Addicks making that journey midweek...top level support 👌

    We will play like that away from home many many times this season. Probably again this Saturday. We will also come away with 3 points on a few occasions playing like that. It's what we do.

    Maybe the often not mentioned ‘competition for places’ is a factor. Makes a change from when the team would be obvious.
    Arguably just Lloyd Jones is the only certainty to play, others have to work hard to get picked.

    I thought Hallam had a "better" game than what we've seen of him of late... Compared to referees we've already had this season it was nice to see the game actually being allowed to flow, rather than a Free-Kick for every little infringement... My two biggest gripes, the foul on Leaburn just inside their half that wasn't given, and the fact that Costello probably should have been booked for the free kick that he gave away.

    There were as many mistakes that stopped us winning it, as there were that could have resulted in losing it. So overall the draw was about right…. Think we can improve, an reduce the volume of individual errors, first 5 minutes second half was a horror story…..

    The ref was absolutely horrendous. Barely gave Leaburn anything all game, one foul was blatant when he was wrong side of the defender and about to run in behind out wide. The worst decision went in our favour though, how Costello didn’t get booked for the most blatant yellow card I’ve seen not be given I don’t know

    Thats definitely a common theme with us, especially last season... We can be so damned slow starting the second half
    I almost get it in the first 45mins, we're trying to contain, work out what the opposition are doing and then we can often find their weaknesses and adjust - But the Second Half I just don't get it, we look like we're trying to work out what we need to be doing, let alone trying to suss them out.

    No he is available Saturday. Maybe too soon tho as the squad are all up in Stoke somewhere until then. Maybe on the bench.
