Yes, notable that TC scored while playing as a striker. Just watched our goal back and it's actually a really good goal. Didn't appreciate it at the time at all. The run from JRC is great and then the pass is pin point. First time cross from Mesik is perfect. Leaburn does amazing to get above both CB's and puts the header perfectly into TC's path who's shot is placed perfectly and also suitably smashed home.

Pleased with a point against a team that likes to keep the ball with lots of short passes.
Shame about their goal as the cross was going nowhere, Bindon had no W.B.A. player near him and with a shout he could have let it go and his header wasn’t great and nor was the closing down of their player for the shot.
Thought Arthur, Lloyd, Connor and Miles were our best players and the subs were real game changers.0 -
Fair enough I understand what you are saying, I just think by just aiming to get enough points to survive doesn’t send the right message, we even found that under Curbs with the sudden drop offs once we had achieved the 40pts mark. Now in the prem that was fine as we knew our level, however IMO in the championship the mentality should be slightly different as in why not shoot for the stars so to speak. That’s what we did in the past and it worked, don’t get me wrong it is harder now.ShootersHillGuru said:

A point well earned. Lots of comment (in the media) about a turgid first half. I found it fascinating.
WBA have a very good home record in 2026 and are playing good football. We had to be really on our toes throughout the half to counter their probing attacks. Shout out to Binden who was thrown straight into the mix and made a couple of crunching statement tackles early on.
Coventry was excellent throughout whilst it was proving a difficult gig for Mwamba who had to cover a lot of ground and saw little of the ball. A true learning experience for a very talented young player.
The home team pressure told in the second half when they went ahead via Styles, one of those players who get on your nerves but wished we had playing for us. I honestly thought that was game over. But the subs came on and we seamlessly changed the system and were getting more possession. Lovely finish by TC and another huge boost to his confidence and well done Leaburn for the challenge. But the plaudits go to JRC for the driving run forward and Mesik for a terrific first time cross. Mesik must play at left back on Saturday.
On to Stoke and my hope is that the lads keep focused and don't subconsciously ease off against a side who haven't got going yet. Keep in mind what they did to us in the first half last season at their place.6 -

Having a LWB option who can actually get up the line is such a big part of a successful 352 and we've never really cracked it fully. Edwards was generally asked to sit deeper and isn't the quickest man on earth, Ramsay just couldn't deliver the attacking quality at RWB, Bell isn't allowed to sprint and Chambers generally inverted into midfield. Mesik is shockingly fast and can cross on the run so TC can move a bit more centrally at the right times because there's not a yawning gap on the left for him to try and occupy. We really are seeing the benefit of bringing in better players alreadyfenaddick said:

Skipp suspension.It was classed as serious foul play. In the EFL, suspensions vary from one match to six in the most extreme cases.
Skipp got 3 match ban.
Since then he has missed MK dons 22/8, Ipswich 25/8, Plymouth 1/9 (or us on the 2/9).
He is cleared to play Saturday.
No way is Skipp or the other recruits sitting at home anyway IMO.
I think Nathan staying away is brilliant. It allows new players to get to know each other outside training and build the togetherness. Plus of course avoid the travel in between.9 -

The ref seemed to think it was ok but was happy for Leaburn to be fouled all night .He was through if he got past their player. Is it worth the club compililng a video of fouls on Leaburn that refs let go and sending to the EFL? Would it help if it was brought to the attention of refs, just to put it in their minds? Probably not.
As for Skipp, he probably needs to be on the bench and play for the U-21s for a few games. And JRC looks a different player from last season. Finally Bindon. Looked ok if a bit slow. Seems to have a good long throw. I think he should have done better for the goal clearling wide rather than in shooting range but may be being over picky.0 -

Mwumba should not be over played at his age so I would at least bench him.1 -
