I think I'm a realist which puts me in none of your categories but scarily puts me in with both Golfie and Wolfie.
Not sure that'll ever happen again

    I think we will finish around 14-15th....with 56-58 points....makes me a realist I guess.

Another big point in the Battle of the Championship.

HMS Safety, HMS Top Half, HMS Top 8, HMS Automatics and HMS Champions are all still floating, without casualties, whilst the crew of HMS Relegation have been ordered to man the lifeboats.
  • I was a Doomster before the season but now im a pessimist. Its been a great start to the season but I think we will eventually figured out, ultimately I feel we have played well but not brilliantly in any of our matches really (in an attacking sense, defensively we have) I think we will survive by being hard to beat but we will have a big run of losses. In reality I just want to see progress from last year so if safe by March ill take it. That said if I am wrong and we are up there at end of season ill be happy for NJ and everyone else to have the last laugh.

All I want is to not be worrying about relegation this season. I'd love to be where someone like QPR were in February last season, on at least 40 points and realistically unlikely to get sucked into the misery. If the Play-offs are on then great but I just can't have another winter of fear that's only sorted out by the end of April

Pessimist in your terms - also pessimist in real life but in this case don’t think my stance is “pessimistic” - you’ve skipped the 13-18th sort of region which is where I think we’ll end up after this start

i think we will finish lower mid table - a Pessiful Hopemist
  • Hopeful optimist!

I think a midtable finish will happen, if our best players remain fit most of the time. With our squad depth, a couple of them out wouldn't spell disaster. Depending on how other teams do, I could genuinely see us push for that newly desirable 8th, if some of the stronger competitors struggle, for whatever reason.

Just my thoughts based on the first few weeks.

I don’t think we’ve got enough going forward to push for the play offs. Think we are still very good without the ball so with our slight improvement in attack should move up the table.

At the start of the season I said 19th, now I’d go with around 14th-16th, any higher than that would be a fantastic achievement

    Hopeful.
  • I’d like to think I’m a realist if such a category were included but I’ve supported this club too long. Yes, I’m a pessimist.

Hopeful. Think a 60 point season or higher would be brilliant progress for us. Might even be enough points to finish 12th.

Should be a category between Pessimist and Hopeful.

i.e. I'm hopeful that we'll finish in relative safety this season, albeit in the bottom half.

As ever, would love to be wrong and we finish top half in a lot better place than last season.

Due to popular demand, I'm introducing a "Relaxed" category:

Doomster (Relegation - 46 points and below?)

Pessimist (Survival - 52 points maximum?)

Relaxed - (Bottom half but relegation not in the equation - 53 points plus?)

    Hopeful - (Top half - 65 points?)

    Optimist - (Top 8 - 73 points?)

Super Optimist - (Top 2 and automatic promotion - 95 points?)

    Deranged - (Champions - 102 points?)

I am in the doomsters group, have us finishing some where between 20 and 23 in the division.
  • I’m keeping next May bank holiday May 29-31 free !
no harm in dreaming of a 3rd Wembley play off final in recent years !  May as well aim high and see what happens !

Top of bottom half is the highest I think we could reach. So Relaxed I suppose.

You can add the women`s team to the doomsters list as they are heading for relegation.

Relaxed is the category - but I'm INSANELY stressed at all time regarding Charlton due to suporting them for over 40 years now.

It is going to be a rollercoaster this year - but we will survive IMHO
