Brilliant away point where unsurprisingly that was as good as I expected . A mate asked would we lose I said I wouldn’t back WBA at that price (they were 4/6) we’re solid now , back QPR if you fancy a bet .
Early days but not as wow’d by the keeper as most but he has a bit more about him than most of the previous jokers in goal .
solidity runs through our team and a proper grafting Nathan Jones squad gave their all .
Coventry was outstanding and my MOTM .
1am when I went to bed and Mrs (mother of the year again , zero interest in football) took pisshead and little shit to the Hawthorns and they still weren’t home and we’re near junction 26 of M25 .
I looked an hour plus after the game finished and they hadn’t got very far and were fannying around the midlands .

    0%    Top 2
    1%      3-4
    2%      5-6
    4%      7-8
    6%    9-12
    80%    13-21
    7%       The big R

Fanny & Family were fannying around in the Midlands/various motorways until the early hours too. Nightmare journey home where we arrived @2am after one very brief pit stop.

Finally arrived back on the M25 , breathing a sigh of relief, when the exit into the last leg on the A21 was closed ...no sign of ANY warning !

I now remember why we gave up on driving to midweek games of any distance.....but thanks to our daughter & co pilot grand daughter we came through- shaken but not stirred...

BOLLARDS is now my favourite swear word  :s

Great draw away from home, but we got caught in posession and gave the ball away far too often. Irradicate that from our game and we'll be top half rather than bottom half come the end of the season.

    Stoke,
    Mesik in for Bell
Midfield three of Cov, Skipp and Costello
Grant Leaburn and TC up front.

    Three points
Isn’t skipp suspended for another two games?
No he is available Saturday. Maybe too soon tho as the squad are all up in Stoke somewhere until then. Maybe on the bench.
    He is not.

He is available for the QPR match next Wed.
He's served his suspension... Sent off vs. Burton... Missed: Ipswich - Sheff Wed - Plymouth / West Brom
Best tell the club then because when we signed him the official blurb said.......

"His debut could come on Wednesday September 8th when the Addicks take on QPR".

And to paraphrase the old saying

    WIOTOS
This is what the official site actually says:

"Meanwhile, Deadline Day arrival, Oliver Skipp, was not eligible for the clash at The Hawthorns after putting pen to paper on his loan deal late on Tuesday evening. The midfielder will be available for selection from Saturday's trip to Stoke City. "

As others have pointed out, it's weird that you have removed the word "Valley" before "debut" when quoting from the page announcing his signing.

It's almost as if quoting it accurately would show him up as moaning for the sake of it... surely not.

We appear to have 26 players either over 21 or, the Wimbledon boy, loaned in. Does anybody know who has actually been registered in our 25.

There’s a thread discussing it but to save you the time the answer is we’re all guessing

The Burkists have laid siege to the Apterites, and the Knibbians have been thoroughly scourged
I think the only fair way to resolve this is the old traditional way in Macros Car Park.

    Not intentional I assure you.

When he signed I originally read it as meaning he was not available until the QPR match.

I don't think too deeply into things, thus meaning I missed the oh so important wording of "The Valley". Sorry for thinking the club would be actually telling us when he would be available to play (after a known ban) than when he might be available for a home match. Silly me.

Someone somewhere mentioned Danny Mac turning around after the goal. If you watch this then you can see him and Lloydy immediately go to the bench for instructions, presumably because of the change in shape (about 8:20 in)

Just listened to a roundup of midweek EFL games, and the guy was very positive about TC and also complimentary of how we set up and stop other sides running away with the game even when they have majority of the possession.

“Charlton are, if not the most, robust team (in the championship), they're set up to survive. They're like, imagine somewhere where there’s regular tornadoes and heavy wind. They're the type of building you put in there with big strong foundations that can survive a bit of a buffering from the elements, so to speak, to use a sort of weather analogy”.

I've come to the conclusion last season TC was kidnapped, and we played his evil twin...
Maybe there's a bonus in his new deal if he scores 10 we sign JRS
The word from a Charlton 'insider' is that Jes Raksaki failed 4 medicals, I don't know if that was at Charlton or spread around other clubs.  Apparently Palace have reduced their price a lot to the extent they cant give him away, as he's on big wages there.

Sounds like we may have dodged a bullet there…
