Emailed mine this morning based on Weegie Addick’s template above with a couple of additional points. If you haven’t done so, note the deadline for submissions is 11:59 pm tomorrow, 6th September.Weegie Addick said:Six days to get your comments in. While it’s better if you can compose your own, here’s a template that can be personalised and submitted if you are very short on time.
Email it to Local-Plan-Consultation@royalgreenwich.gov.ukDear Sir / Madam,The Valley, Floyd Road, Charlton - Regulation 19 Draft Local Plan RepresentationI am writing to you in connection with the above to set out my full support for the representation submitted by the Charlton Athletic Supporters' Trust.I am a Charlton supporter / season ticket holder [*delete as appropriate"] and have been going to watch matches at The Valley for XX years. The Valley is significant to the Club's history and is of substantial importance to the surrounding area and Royal Greenwich in general given the vast social, economic, sporting and cultural benefits it brings.I am deeply concerned to read that it is the Council's proposal to weaken existing planning policy protection for The Valley and strongly object to the Local Plan on that basis.I fully support the proposal advanced by the Supporters' Trust and note it is also supported by the Club. I urge the Council to update its Local Plan in accordance with Trust's recommendation.Kind regards,XXXXXXAddress

I slipped in a brief reference to that as well. My attempt at subtlety read:PragueAddick said:I couldn't resist reminding them of the Valley Party, since it seems to me that some of them might have thought that enough water has passed under the bridge. I pointed out that nearly 15,000 Greenwich votes was almost 3x the number going to watch Charlton at the time, and now we are at 20,000+ and take nearly 40,000 to Wembley, so they can do the maths...
As for the idea that somehow a lot of us are no longer Greenwich residents, I wrote "The Cutty Sark brings visitors to Greenwich. Once. The Valley brings Greenwich people home. "
”The Valley is cherished by supporters of CAFC in Greenwich and further afield, as to which, see the 14,000 plus votes garnered by The Valley Party.”

Likewise - I gently reminded them of the Valley Party and how quickly this fan base can mobilise to protect what it loves - i.e see the Duchatelet protests in recent times.Edit, here’s that part from my email:
What's remarkable is that Greenwich Council knows better than most how powerful this fanbase is: it was the mobilisation of Charlton supporters, including the Valley Party, that helped bring the club home in the first place. That same energy is very much alive today, as shown by the fan-led movement against former owner Roland Duchatelet. This is not a fanbase that will quietly accept The Valley being left unprotected.3 -

Done using the template, with additional mentions for the Womens team which currently plays there, and the University of Greenwich which has held classes there (not sure if still does so was careful with the tense).2

Done as well, I mentioned the good work done by CACT which was founded by the club, also the good work the club does for racial equality , and LGBQ+ equality in sport.
Reminding them this could all be lost if the club not given more protection to remain at the Valley.3 -
Some wonderful comments / examples of why the club and The Valley are massive assets to RBG.
Just under three hours to go if you haven’t written in yet.
