I pity Jones really... He could get us promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season, and he'd be gone by the December

Yeah I’ve not been wowed by Bindon and an example first half was down the left side he just wasn’t strong enough in an aerial dual, resulting in Lloyd having to then concede a foul in a dangerous area near the touchline covering.

It’s clearly been a hard ask effectively going into a team without training first, particularly one conceding so much possession, and I Must admit @PragueAddick  made a great point in reminding how young he is, so I’m hopeful we’ll see him improve as the season progresses

Echo a lot of the previous posts, first 10/15 minutes aside it was a tough watch, we held out and grabbed a point which after the Stoke drubbing was a point well earned.... Regardless, theres question marks over some players still and concerns regarding our ability to create and finish, despite the change in formation and us wanting to play a bit more, we are still so massively reliant on TC for that spark, Grant is so much better on the left than anywhere else so would like to see them interchanging a bit more, but until we get that quality right winger in... much of the same give it to TC and hope.

QPR looked good, better than I was expecting at least, they seem to have been hit with the same injury goblins that we are cursed with but I hear they also went down the "quality player but injury risk" route as well.

Big shout out to Leaburn who so far this season looks well up to the Champ, still dont think he'll be banging in many but all other aspects of his game are right up there.

Carey, I guess people are calling it a pile on because thats just what they do, but he just doesnt work in this newer way of playing - last season when he was busting a bollock and getting forward on the end of those second balls was fine, but trying to play a bit more football through him... he just doesnt have that quality to be more of a... lets be generous and say expressive 10.

Okonkwo - The original doubts abut him have started to creep back in last two games, still a better option than Kaminski.

Bindon - Like the effort and playstyle but fcking hell hes a foul risk, Brownie made the point its been a tough couple of games to come into, chasing around a lot and no real time on the training pitch, really hoping its just that...

A good point given the previous but awful in getting it, need those injured players back ASAP

Not a classic but a Curbs like stop the rot after Saturday which we managed. Unlucky with the TC offside decision but a point is better than none even though we should be winning our home games.

Just hope Miles isn’t set for another long injury lay off. We need him.

Have they? Not here they haven't but I didn't have any doubts about him in the first place. But then my remaining life is too short to read the wisdom of Wrexham "fans" in Des Moines or Shit Creek Tennessee. ;)

Could he have done better with last night's goals? Not really, since he didn't concede one.

Yes they have, they havent for you and thats truly amazing, I'm so happy for you that you can have your own thought and opinion.

As for your second comment thats so fucking pathetic I dont even know why I bolded it and am commenting on it, just utterly pathetically and snarky for no reason.

Their bloody keeper pissed me off, we just stood there and gave him freedom to roam, gave them an extra outfield player 🤦
He could spray a pass as well. Great distribution from him last night

I suspect he goes steaming up the pitch every day in training thinking he is Glenn Hoddle.

Don’t remember seeing a keeper so comfortable with the ball at feet and being utilised out the box so much
Come on, we just stood there looking at him, he hardly had to break sweat the whole game, we were defending far too deep protecting a 0-0 from the kick off, it was embarrassing at times, we were at home ffs...

Feels like an overreaction to what was an ok point against a decent side. Felt QPR played the ball around well but without much substance going forward. Biggest disappointment for me was Okonkwo time wasting late on when it actually felt like we had a little bit of momentum.

Not sure why Mbick and Bindon are being written off. People have no patience

I believe Arthur took his time because he could sense the amount of tiredness in the 5 outfield players who had played from the beginning and had chased or jogged shadows from the 10th minute onwards.

I don't think either Mbick or Bindon are being written off but what I found was quite a few posters went early with OTT predictions with how Mbick would be a Premier player and 1 poster said he would be the England number 9 in a few years.
I felt that was premature despite doing the same thing with Joe Gomez after watching him for 5 minutes very early in his career ! I wasn't wrong let's hope Blackpool is correct 👍🏻
Let's give Mbick time because scoring goals in League 2 doesn't make you a future England international.
Yes I know Brighton and Saints want to buy him and I look forward to Micah showing what he can do in a CAFC shirt first.

Bindon is still learning and I guess we have to accept he will make mistakes. Against Stoke, Lloyd pointed to Hirst for Tyler to mark but the former Ipswich striker still got in front of him to head home from close range.
He made a couple of poor decisions last night and one where Jones had to make a foul and also Arthur had to make a good save with his leg when Bindon was caught loitering on the ball.
Because of Billy's injury, Bindon had to be thrown in and we need to support him but by not pointing out his mistakes would be remiss and all CAFC fans hope he makes quick progress.

Reality has kicked in quickly after the first 3 games and everyone should really be on the same page now that every draw and win will help in achieving our goal of being a tad better points wise on last season.

A very tired and sterile performance from us but we will look back and treat it as a point gained..if we can get another win from the international break that would be a fantastic start to the season

I think the fear from the team was we'd push up to pressure, and they'd use their pace with Kamara and Burrell to exploit the space between back line and Goalkeeper - So the Defence naturally kept things deliberately tight between themselves and Okonkwo, the Coventry / Skipp then couldn't push up themselves to leave space to be exploited down the middle, leaving Leaburn / Campbell / Grant to do it all themselves and they were easily bypassed
The problem was we couldn't keep the ball, whether it be through bad passing (annoying given the one defence splitting pass from Skipp to Campbell), or because QPR just did too well at pressing us themselves as we weren't as fluid as them - Take the poor high pass wide to Bell in the first half, he had to wait for the ball to come down, but had three players immediately harrying him, so he had to rush his clearance = Throw in to them.

Amazing points return and position in the table
the football not so much but much improved on last year
2 points from 3 games , 3rd lowest scorers in the league is pointing to a season in the lower echelons and as I’ve said all season I’d take 4th bottom .
This is the new norm , gradual slow dull as fuck progression , on a cheese eaters budget is all that can realistically be expected .

injuries hitting most teams so we’re not on our own there .
leaburn will be missed hopefully just a precaution .

the crowds won’t be flocking back for this but it is what it is .

    Roll on next season
  • Pleased with a point and even more so with a clean sheet to be honest, I think that was really important after the Stoke game.

I was surprised with how good QPR looked, knocked it around really well, just lacked that final bit of end product.

I haven't looked at the QPR forum because who cares but I reckon if the roles were reversed we would be on here moaning about possession for possession's sake and how the only real chance we created we had to be gifted to us by the opposition centre back having a moment of madness - and missed that anyway. I really don't care about how much possession we have. I care about the amount of serious chances we concede and how many points we get. I was never really worried in that game, the only way I saw them scoring was if they got a long range shot off perfectly or if we made a stupid mistake at the back. Given that we're missing half of our first choice defence, playing a new formation and playing a LB on the right I think that's pretty good. We need to get a bit better in the final third but that will come with time and a bit more consistency; we started the season with Godden, now Leaburn is injured, we haven't had Kelman available yet and we're playing a 19 year old recently back from a long lay-off as our last man standing. We didn't get the right winger we needed to balance things out and Skipp has only been here just over a week. There is an issue in the 10 role that needs to be figured out, It looks like Jones doesn't trust Knibbs but if the worst he can do is run around trying to press and not see the ball much then he can't do any worse than Carey at the moment.

We had all this kind of stuff piling onto us last season and we went into a run where we won 2 in 14 and looked absolutely atrocious. I take it as a good sign that we don't look anything like that so far and we're still putting difficult points on the board. Two more hopefully winnable games and then we can have the international break to bring a lot of players back and start lining up with our first choice 11 and some quality players to come off the bench

Can see why Man City paid a significant fee for Pierce Charles with how good his distribution is alone.

28% possession 0 shots on target couldn't string more than 3 passes together, but you're classed as miserable and told to grow up for being slightly critical, deary me.
How would you feel if we'd just had 72% possession... 2-shots on target and over 600 passes with nothing to show for it?
For many of us, the result is more important than the performance because its another point closer to safety. But I look forward to the day when we as a fanbase can turn around and say: "Gosh didnt we play so well, we passed the ball so beautifully... Shame we lost, but never mind, that doesnt matter"

But it doesn't have to be one or the other. What's wrong with a "normal" game of football when possession is roughly 50/50 and both teams attack & defend.

Great battling point, but awful watch. Went with two neutrals who thought the same
  • Odd one.

Deserved to lose yet hard done by with the “goal”.

Another point ticked off and any point before the international break is a bonus before we get some players back.

I know it’s early days but those 4 points away at West Ham and West Brom could look very useful in April.

    Onwards. UTFA.
  • Regardless of results we're not a great watch. We're strong defensively but can barely string two passes together and lose possession constantly.

We have to develop some attacking threat.
  • Whilst praising OKonkwo in his interview I noticed Jones managed to diss Kaminski in the same breath.

"We thought we'd bought in those qualities before ... turns out we didn't".

Two very different styles of play but ultimately two sides that lacked the quality required to score, and therefore the result was a fair one. QPR are like every mid table Championship side nowadays - they knock the ball around well enough to make you think they're decent but then rarely do anything with it. I think that often makes us look less comfortable in game than we actually are.

Last night there were a few hints of last season's team creeping back in, but with so many injuries and back to back midweek games I see that as inevitable. The fact we can still gain a point in that scenario is encouraging as far as I'm concerned. Now need to drag ourselves to the long international break to let everyone recover, and hopefully we can get 2-3 points from the next two games.

He's absolutely tiny for a keeper though. Think his actually keeping ability won't be up to snuff at the top level. Brilliant with his feet though

No mention of Jones being totally out witted by Stephans tactical nous which created the overload in midfield and let them control the game.
The constant whining and whinging on here about referees is really tiresome. I haven't seen too many goals scored by the ref against us. Most fans don't even understand the laws of the game.
Recruitment has once again proved to be inadequate.
I don't think many of the summer signings will go on to have any significant career with us.
The supporters who decided to stay away tonight were the only winners. Staggeringly small crowd to watch a game that could have seen us go top.
Pricing of tickets does not help.
Finally  my QPR mate tells me that they had loads of injuries tonight. Every club does. It us a squad game now days and our squad is simply not strong or good enough.
the stayaway fans are part of the reason why we are watching a team that struggles to compete - if they showed up and / or bought a season ticket, we might have owners willing to splash the cash a bit more - its a self fulfilling vicious circle - broken record i know but the only people entitled to moan are those who put their money and time where their mouths are (usual exclusions and T'S and C's apply)
