  • Not ideal, really needed the team as a whole to train together over the break
Going to be a few missing I assume. Ouma, Okonkwo, Bindon, TC, Bell, Mesik?, Conor Cov?, Alli.
    Suffering from success

Hopefully tim gets some minutes without injury in readiness for our charge to the top

I don't want to be too harsh on him but we appear to have loaned in a CM who can't read a game, has poor positioning sense, can't tackle and can't pass. I'd love to know what the scouting showed.

He looks well off it to me.

Petition to change our home ground to Sparrow's Lane because he must play like Messi there to get away with these performances.

Thank god we didn’t sign him permanently- looks non league level to me.

Part of the problem he’s had is the times he’s played proper minutes he’s been coming into a side that’s already dysfunctional or full of changes so he’s been expected to change the game rather than being eased in

A good point but he doesn’t look like a footballer, he’s been guff. Thank god he’s only on loan. Can’t remember the team who were going to loan him before we stepped in but they have had a result.

Compare him to Mesik, who has been shifted here, there and everywhere within games but still puts in decent performances and at least looks like a footballer.

I thought Skipp was very poor in the second half which obviously didn't help Ouma.

You could see from the moment he came on today he couldn't get to the pace of the game and that became clearer as the game went on. A worry. We must have seen something to sign him. Collins looked the part.

But apart from that, he looks decent.

I want to give Ouma a bit of grace. I've defending him thus far. New country, new to the league and team. Seems to have some ability there but before today has been thrown in before he's ready and before he's had any chance to adapt and appears he's not got his decision making right.

But today he was truly terrible. Just looked lost. Doesnt know who his man is off the ball, a liability when he tries to tackle and if you give him the ball it looks like the first time in his life he's ever interracted with something spherical in his life.

We had other options on the bench so no reason he had to be thrown in.

Didn’t get him coming on as our most attacking midfielder, suppose Jones thought that it might help ease him in over playing him deeper.

From what I’ve seen of Ouma so far I want to see Mwamba get more minutes ahead of him. As with Fullah last season though sometimes Jones seems reluctant to leave senior players out of the matchday squad.

To be fair he’s not playing bad on purpose.

It’s the club/managers fault for signing a player who quite obviously way out of his depth.

He may need adjustment time. Trying to be fair.

This. Weird that he's throwing Ouma in when it's clear the guy is out of his depth. Just insulting as well to some of the more experienced members on the bench.
  • Can only think NJ bought him on at half time to kill the game, and he did.  Job done. Dreadful so far.

Almost scandalous we got rid of Docherty for him. Thankfully it's only a option to buy. Maybe he improves but at the moment it's not looking great

I accept he isn’t looking like the answer, but my god it’s not just him, we have bigger issues than one new player.

Funny things football fans. After two seasons of complaining about Docherty quite a number of people got very excited about Ouma based on some YouTube videos and write-ups. Now a couple of games into a difficult adjustment period and it’s all asking who scouted him and what they could possibly have seen (despite loving what they saw initially) and asking how we could possibly have done this to Saint Greg (who was getting dog’s abuse most match threads). Fascinating stuff

    More fool them tbh.
  • Compared to Anderson though he looks awful. Could have saved the money and played Karoy

Did we make the correct decision selling Karoy given that the midfield has not improved or even got worse without him.

But we were all led to believe we were going to sign players better than we had, so selling Karoy on shouldn’t have been an issue. The fact he is doing well in league 1 isn’t a reason to have kept him.

Silly game to bring him on alongside Skipp and Cov - we only ever need 2 of them.  I still maintain Skipp is crap and was positional poor once again - thst can’t help Ouma (or Cov)

Our players are too used to a midfield playing backwards and sideways so anyone attempting to be more progressive will take time to bed in.

not giving up on Ouma yet

It’s not that, it’s that the gap between the 6’s and the 10 is absolutely massive. It’s so easy for opposition players to close off that passing lane which is why we end up going sideways/back

Ouma looks to have been an incoming after we spent so long pursuing Holsgrove. I don’t think Ouma has had the fairest of rubs but I think we’ll go back for Holsgrove and JRS in Ouma will depart. I wouldn’t be shocked to see an earlier departure if he was late back from international duty again.
