Would anyone like a box of old VOTVs, programmes and newspaper cuttings

Mid 80s to mid 2000s. Moving house. I'd like these to go to someone with a genuine interest. Free to anyone who will collect from Horley

Have you checked with the Museum? They've probably got programmes coming out of their ears, not sure about the VOTVs, but might be interested in the newspaper cuttings.

If you have a VOTV from December 1970 I would like that as it has my photo in it (Boro away). I lost my copy long ago.

Think we’d all like to see that, a real collectors item seeing as it doesn’t exist.

What I’d like is a reincarnation of those 3 players into our current team, although I reckon Super Clive would be considered not good enough at defensive duties.

    Got that wrong!
    What I meant was
If you have a VOTV featuring Boro v Charlton from December 1970 I would like that as it has my photo in it. I lost my copy long ago.

    Do you mean 1990?

The museum may have a copy for sale, we certainly have a scan of it.

I think he means that there was an issue of VOTV in which there was a feature on this 1970 match.

We played at Boro on 14th Nov, not in December

Is that the photo with about 30 fans lined up in a park after travelling overnight?

Yes, but I think the issue will have been December

    @CostaFortune

Found it in Valiants Viewpoint December 1988.

Appears to be a Tom Morris pic so we might have it digitally.

    Which one is you?

Ha ha...I looked at the first picture and I thought ... how the hell can anyone recognise anyone in that picture and identify themselves ... then I scrolled down!

Having taken this thread away from it's original subject (unusual I know), here are my memories of that trip:

We left Charlton at midnight, getting to Middlesboro around 8 a.m.
We played their supporters club at football.
We lost 3-0 in the actual game
Their boot boys came to our end in the second half to fill us in because one of them had been beaten up in London (he didn't know who beat him up, didn't think it was Charlton but we were from London too)
About 4 brave coppers saved us by making their fans take their laces out of their Doc Martens
It was a long journey home.
    Happy days!
