Those comically bad players like Hungarian international Loic Nego.

Maybe let’s give him a chance - he’s only started one game so far and hasn’t yet featured at the Valley.

I’d like to see what he’s capable of when we’re playing a team we’re expected to beat, like Portsmouth.

Ouma looks to have been an incoming after we spent so long pursuing Holsgrove. I don’t think Ouma has had the fairest of rubs but I think we’ll go back for Holsgrove and JRS in Ouma will depart. I wouldn’t be shocked to see an earlier departure if he was late back from international duty again.
Have you seen the career history of Holsgrove?!
Have you seen the career history of Moylan? The lad who tore us a new one yesterday?

We shouldn’t be so quick to judge players based on their priors, nor the ones that have only played 120 minutes of football for us.
More advisable to go for players with relevant experience.

A young lad moving to a new country, no familiar faces (Collins injury didn’t help with that), new training methods, new culture, etc. it will take a bit of time for him to settle

away from the training ground, is he living in a hotel, on his own or with a family. He might be struggling.

on the pitch, he definitely needs to up his game.

although he was poor, at least he tried to pass the ball forward and not sideways or backward. The ball to Danny Mac when Danny Mac just stood there does look poor. However, as a team we are so static and lack movement, that should have been a great ball. Danny Mac screamed at him but he should be moving!

he also pointed and told grant to follow his man, grant didn’t and then shouted at him.

he played the ball 5 yards in front of skipp. Skipp didn’t move and shouted at him.

the rest of the game, he was poor but the lack of movement in the team is a worry
Agree with all that, but why throw him in at Stoke away??
It was a huge risk and may have dented his confidence even further backwards.
Jones management of this squad does baffle me at times.

Level of opposition shouldn’t affect your ability to play a simple 10 yard pass. He’s in the bottom 4% of all championship midfielders for pass accuracy and none of his attempted passes have been deemed long ball passes  where players will also be expected to complete less.

Hungary haven't even qualified for a World Cup in Nego's lifetime. Hardly a modern football powerhouse

Stoke and Cardiff are hardly Barca and PSG. It woulld not have been a shock for us to have gotten a result at either, and Ouma played in both like he'd never seen a football pitch before.

I appreciate we are on opposing sides of the positive scale, but the writing was on the wall the second he pulled out of that header at Spurs.

Gotta agree on this one... That was big message he was tin pot. You don't dodge a header playing against the biggest side of your career so far.

To start him alongside another debutant who you could argue his confidence needed some mending(Skipp) after relegations was absolutely crazy ,and that was just a part of the selection issues for that game.

Exactly. The away end booed and he got a lot of stick for that pass out of play, but that was 100% the right pass to play there but McNamara didn’t make the run

Still think he’ll come good once he settles in.

I think that people have made their minds up on him after one incident meaningless cup game and have been waiting for something to get on his case every time he’s featured since.

I think if he was playing well hardly anyone would be getting on his case.
Let's be honest, he's been atrocious as has Alii and Bindon is also looking like costing us a goal a game.

He certainly isn't playing well but he is getting the sole blame for a lot of things that aren't purely his fault. He should have done better for the third goal, for example, but lots of other players had the chance to put a tackle in and didn't. His pass to McNamara was poor but why wasn't McNamara looking to get forward into the space behind his man?

Some of it is poor, like the pass he decided to make with the outside of his boot and just thumped into a Cardiff shirt. Some of his "errors" are just because he doesn't have chemistry with his teammates. In a playing scenario he hasn't really had the chance to create it

I'm still keeping an open mind because he just looks panicked and like he's trying too hard. He is certainly an athlete and he's won some duels he had no right to win.

He looks like he's trying to over adjust to the pace of this league, because his passing is faster than the rest of the team and it's often before they've had an opportunity to move into the position he's passing to.

There are concerns over his decision-making in key defensive moments. He needs to be a lot more committed to getting in front of the ball and putting his body on the line. But that should be an easy fix for the coaching staff.

He does not look like an 'Ahadme' to me – where you're left questioning what core abilities the club ever saw in this person. He's clearly got something about him, but it's all going wrong at the moment.

Yes, but how many games do we lose waiting for him Alii and Bindon to find the chemistry?
Oknonkwo, McNamara, Chalobah, Mesik and probably Skipp haven't lost us games.

We don’t, we take them out the team and ease them back in, ideally in better situations than Stoke away in a new midfield 3. Some might take their chances, others won’t, but that’s expected as not every signing will be a success.

There’s might be better examples, but Bulot and even JRS didn’t convince in the first half of their seasons with us, but were key players by the end of the season.

Two months isn’t long for players to settle in, especially those moving to a new country. Other players settling in quickly doesn’t mean all signings should be expected to.

It might just be coincidence but the 4 games Skipp has played for us have probably been our 4 worst performances of the season.

Skipp has played 22 league games since the first week of January, his teams have won once.

He's been a liability in the games he's played so far but as others have said, he has a physicality about him and has won some balls he had no right to win - not lots of them but enough to see there's something there. I wouldn't write him off just yet. Having said that, NJ sees him day in day out and if he'd have really impressed, we may not have gone for Skip and got that creative /attacking force that we really needed instead.

We are a team who are hard to pass too. Linked to that is its failure to win second balls. I recall Leaburn  doing well to hold on to the ball and then having to search too hard for somebody to pass to. Out players seem to always be on their heels which can't be true but it looks that way. I don't think Cardiff had to make great passes, just passes. The difference was had we done that they would have had defenders tight on us whereas we gave them a couple of yards.

Get Ouma does look like he has some good qualities but he’s made 3 errors leading to goals in 4 games. I get players take time to settle but that’s not an excuse for making errors Sunday league players wouldn’t even make

To be fair to Skipp, him and Coventry are the same type of player. They have differences but ideally you play one of them. I think Skipp pretty much did his job on Saturday and Coventry didn't but Coventry has had good games this season. That isn't a terrible thing in that if the one playing is having a bad game you can change it up. The problem we have is who do we play with one of Skipp and Coventry? Chalobah worked but that is no longer an option for a while at least. Mwamba has shown positive signs but whether he can develop sufficiently, instantly is a big doubt. You can see why Jones is playing Coventry and Skipp but it isn't ideal.

In a playing scenario he hasn't really had the chance to create it
Yes, but how many games do we lose waiting for him Alii and Bindon to find the chemistry?
Oknonkwo, McNamara, Chalobah, Mesik and probably Skipp haven't lost us games.
It might just be coincidence but the 4 games Skipp has played for us have probably been our 4 worst performances of the season.

Skipp has played 22 league games since the first week of January, his teams have won once.
Skipp is certainly not to blame for the 4 defeats and hasn't looked like losing us a goal every game like Bindon.
    But he's certainly been average.

However, I think Skipp is very committed and does give 100% unlike Alii & Ouma
I agree with all of that, but at the same time Skipp definitely hasn't made us any better.

I'd 100% play Chalobah over him when fit.

I would be amazed if there isn't 100% agreement on that which is unusual on any football forum.
When Chalobah is fit 🤞🏻 he plays and possibly Skipp ahead of Coventry to start.

It was a gut feeling from me that Mwamba was ahead of Ouma from just watching the Spurs match. Alan had confidence on the ball in his cameo whereas Ouma looked nervous and unsure.
I always felt Ouma was the biggest gamble as so few Kenya's have made the transition to the EFL other than Victor Wanyama in the premier that I recall.

The only mitigation I can find with Timothy being totally confused with the bounce of the ball was had he ever played on that type of hybrid pitch at Spurs ?

Those of us that used to go to Luton or QPR back in the days were amazed how CAFC players struggled on the plastic pitches with how the ball bounced despite surely training on that surface somewhere before the games ?

May only be 18 but Alan Mwamba looks a natural.

We can all agree he clearly looked off the pace but we shouldn't write him off just yet. I hink he needs a run of games in the u21s.

Or maybe he can get some of that in his two fixtures for Kenya this break

    Some context to the signing.

He arrived 10th August around 6 weeks ago having never played in the Championship before and tempo it is played at. He has 120 mins in this league under his belt plus a cup game against a far superior opposition.

I would imagine other than training he has been moving, looking for a place to live and getting to know his surroundings in a new country at the age of 22.

Admittedly the minutes he has had, have been meh.

Now the early mad start to the season has taken a break he joins the Kenyan squad for 2 games. The last being on the 1st October.

We should be looking to get him back from duty as quickly as possible and get working on the training ground with him before our game on the 10th. It gives ourselves as short window before another 3 game burst.

Let hope thing pick up for young Tim once he has been around for a little while.
