Charlton Fan Music Video
Long time lurker / sporadic poster here.
This one's mainly for the millennials who grew up on Linkin Park et al.
Last November, my band Crostpaths had the opportunity to open for ragga metal (yup, that's a real genre!) stalwarts Skindred at Folkestone's 1,500 capacity Leas Cliff Hall.
To give the uninitiated a gauge of their stature:
- Their most recent record went to No.1 in the UK Album Charts (their previous effort reached No.2 in 2023).
- They headline Ally Pally next month (previous London headline show was Wembley Arena in 2024).
Why is any of this relevant? Well, due to their frontman Benji Webbe being of Jamaican heritage, I saw it as my Charlton duty to wear the appropriately coloured 25/26 Addicks 3rd shirt AND matching bucket hat for our set.
Of course I received the "great set, shame about the shirt" banter from an audience member (he was a West Ham fan, hindsight eh?!)
As for the music video, if you're still reading this far, you can see the resplendent hat & shirt combo in action here:

Very cool mate.ย
I will listen to your band while I hammer some fifa today.
Skindred are right up there as one of my fav bands (was listening to them on the way to Cardiff as I crossed through their home city Newport) so I bet you were buzzing to do that for them.
Pretty cool you made a song with Kid Bookie/Tyrone as well. Always liked Ty growing up, sound lad.ย
Well in mate, love seeing Charlton represented like this ๐๐ป1 -
Iโm probably not your target audience but I like it and you looked fabulous.
Great effort ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป2 -
I like it man. We should get something done together sometime as 2 Charlton bands (Simmons And The Stags).YoungFishCosta4tune said:Long time lurker / sporadic poster here.

Feel like it's got a massive influence of Linkin Park especially lyrically with a comparison to In The End. One of our latest singles Checked Out was influenced by Bleed It Out.
Hopefully catch you boys live soon. Amazing work on the support slot, one for the memories and it looks like everyone enjoyed it. Nice one!2 -

Funnily enough we had actually met Benji once a couple of years before as we played Le Pub in Newport supporting The Kennedy Soundtrack (a really obscure Welsh nu-metal band who had a bit of Kerrang TV fame in the early 00s).
They'd supported Benji's old band Dub War for a random reunion run that summer.
Apparently Benji frequents gigs in Newport regularly so nobody batted an eyelid but we were starstruck.
The band were really lovely to us backstage at Folkestone.
Nice one on the Bookie knowledge!
it's mad to see Ty hanging out with The Osbournes now.
Last time we encountered him was at the New Cross Inn last spring when we opened for Pengshui (get that band in your ears if you're not familiar).0 -

Ah good old Skindred. I don't even check to see if they're at a music festival I'm going to anymore, I just assume they're there and I'm always right1

I remember when I was a kid back in the early 60s watching a pop show.ยยAnd they were reviewing the Rolling Stones and the fella said they would only have a hit if Max Bygraves did a cover version of record.ยCanโt see Maxey boy covering this track.ยBut even as a 69y old man I loved the energy. Hope it does well for you.
( You might have to look Max Bygraves up on google)1
