Watford [A] Tickets to go on restricted sale

  • £36 (plus a stupid transaction fee for a ticket that's emailed to you) will definitely put a fair few off. But it's a decent ground to be honest, more traditional and good views too. Actually really appreciated Watford's hospitality last time too so happy to make the trip again.

At least this time the West Coast Mainline is running so we don't have to trek it from the tube station

Clubs , including ours ,  are pricing the normal fan out of going to games . Whoever makes the decision to charge over £37 to go to watch a bang average championship side is either dumb or just plain greedy . I don’t think this will sell out and we’ll see a massive drop off of home fans at The Valley.

Just bought my tickets for Watford.
Tticket office said still about 1000 left.
I thought they would have been nearly all sold by now.

I was going mate but after witnessing that saturday and best part of 250 quid gone. Want to get some money back after that crap.

If it does ,  and I’m not convinced , it will be at a much later stage than it did last season . It’s just too expensive.

Yes, it will obviously be at a later stage, but it will sell out.
The game's nearly a month away.

Got our two tickets today. I agree that 36 quid for an adult is a ridiculous price.

Ludicrous adult price, ok for over 65 at £21.

Anyone know where the Eltham coach pick-up point is please? The club don't think its necessary to tell people.

Regards the pricing it is excessive to say the least.  However, this will sell out as fans will swallow the price because the travelling cost is minimal.
I would be amazed if the average price of a ticket is less than £30 in the Championship and attendances suggest people will still go.
I do think the Championship should adopt a flat price for away fans.

You may be right about adult match tickets, but I doubt if it’s £30 if you factor in season tickets never mind concessions. The important thing to bear in mind is that relatively few home tickets are being sold at these high prices - which is why the case is hard to make out if you also have thousands of empty seats.

Game is still over 3 weeks away so no major rush, and there's probably some apathy from those who went to Stoke and Cardiff. Might also be some people waiting for pay day over the next week before buying (i'm clutching straws for reasons here). As we get nearer the time though, i'm confident it will sell out.

You also have to factor the start time. For those living in the London area its a doddle. Lots of us have to get into London before moving on. I went last year as it was 3 pm and the team were putting in a shift to remain in this division.

Recent 5 games have been dire.

I do not know what the answer is.
Even if tickets were a maximum £25 for adults, and £10 for concessions I still think there would be lots of empty seats.
At the end of the day it probably comes down to the product on the pitch.

    Thank you Clive.
It is right by the Well Hall roundabout.
Dickson Road (where you can/could park) is the first turning on the left after the roundabout if you're heading towards Charlton/Woolwich.

  • This will sell out
  • Bought ours yesterday and for us the pricing worked well one over 65 one under 22 and two under 18 for £59 in all

A quick count and it looks like 254 + that row at the front left.

A 2313 allocation means over 2k already sold. Probably mostly us old gits and the youngsters at those prices

I'm giving 12.30 aways a swerve after last Saturday's shitfest. Still fuming and I've been in Turkey ever since! Ffs this club.

I was there as well last Saturday but I’m long past letting the football spoil a good day out. Personally, Watford is close enough from London to pass up on even if it is a 12.30 ko so tickets booked, can’t bring myself to go on the long midweek trek to Burnley, not sure about Middlesbrough just yet because I can’t face sitting on a train for too long, but couldn’t pass up on the advance rail ticket prices to Wolverhampton.

Annoyingly for you, any blanket avoidance of 12.30 kick offs because not all the team turns up will probably rule out half our away games by the end of the season and passing up on a comparatively short journey to Watford seems self defeating.

about 150 left so entering the you snooze, you lose stage for ticket sales for anybody not paying attention.

Can’t make this one but Watford is a good away. Close to London and a decent away section
  • Am I right in thinking they won't serve alcohol in the away end ?
