The under-21s have entered the Kent Senior Cup again. Along with the other EFL under-21s and larger non-league sides in the draw, we have a bye into round 2 which is the round before the quarter finals. Round 1 is being played on 8 September so that's probably roughly when the draw will take place. Gillingham and Bromley are the other EFL entrants.

That brings back memories of the 7-1 Kent senior final from 1/5/13 when I was convinced Michael Smith scored 5 goals but when I checked they gave one of his goals as an OG (via Smith)
Smith, Pigott, Fox and Jordan Cook went on to have professional career's but Kevin Feeley the other scorer along with Cook and the high 5 from Smith went back to Ireland to be a Gaelic footballer.
I haven't checked what the Charlton team was but there could well be others who had pro careers from that bunch. Sadly Bradley Jordan the captain wasn't one of them and when I spoke to him at Sparrows lane he said he was playing in discomfort because of a foot problem.

The squad in the programme included Nick Pope, Semi Ajayi, Jordan Cousins, Cedric Evina, Diego Poyet, Oliver Muldoon, Ade Azeez. All went on to stay professional footballers except Poyet.1

I watched a few games that season at U21 level and Pope was the keeper in most of the games.
Watching the Final it was all about how many goals would Smith score !
Even though Smith never made the break through at CAFC I predicted he would've a good career at least at League 1 level and he was a decent target man for Rotherham and Sheffield Wednesday in both League 1 and Championship; Obviously his scoring was higher in the 3rd tier.
Very much in the Kieffer Moore and Miles Leaburn mould.
