He's an absolute class act. Was always very shocked he didn't get a gig doing the higher level presenting on SkySports.

Had a chat with him in the club shop shortly before that, more about family than football but unsurprisingly a very friendly guy. He picked up a scarf though not sure if it was the one with his face on!

Might pop in and have a look later.

    Who donated him??
    His missus?
I have visions of Minto being put in a display cabinet, next to the medals and pennants.

Met him out in Valencia immediately after the game in 2006, a really nice fella.

Has he been stuffed and mounted, like the Walrus in the Horniman's Museum?

Good mention of Scott's visit to museum and very good words from Steve Brown in the CharltonTV show tonight.

That takes me back. I lived in Green Street Green from 1977-82, a close somewhere off Glentrammon Road if I remember and used to commute in to London from Chelsfield Station. Then relocated to Aberdeen and elsewhere after that. Enjoyed living there. Has the area changed much over the years?

It was decent until people like @blackpool72 moved in.

    Gone downhill since

It's still a nice area to live in.
Green street Green is still pretty much the same as when you lived there.
Chelsfield has changed in as much as it's more built up now.
When I was a kid Chelsfield Park was full of small bungalows and smallish houses.
Over the years they have pretty much all been replaced by huge houses.
This is because some of the gardens are as big as football pitches so property is bought with the intention of being rebuilt with something much bigger.
My house is a 3 bed semi so not as grand as the multi million pound houses in the park.

Minto, along with a string of other top players in the area including Gordon Watson, joined our sunday side as our manager had just become head of the Charlton youth teams - my Dad got our manager the job at Charlton - i left as a result as was now a fixture on the bench - i hold no grudges - that's life !!!  :)

You have had the pleasure Fanny - tall bloke is my best mate Jim - you met him outside Racecourse Ground in promotion season - pre match - and I was very drunk already, and you told me off 😍

Scott’s visit was engineered via a friend of mine, who is Scott’s mate - Scott loved his visit, we gave him a personal tour of the museum

Best bit for me - we took him in our museum store room, where we have stuff not on display, indeed more in there than on display (space is an issue) - Scott went straight to our extensive shirt collection, and picked out those he played in for our wonderful club - he was like a kid in a sweet shop

He is one of the finest ‘products’ of our academy - superb player, and very intelligent and sociable man

It was quite simply a brilliant day
