Palace valued at £900m (albeit by themselves!)

IMG_1946.jpeg

Crystal Palace’s owners have valued the club at £900m and hired the Raine Group to field interest in investment or a possible sale, multiple sources have told City AM.

The £900m figure is more than double the valuation at which Woody Johnson acquired 43 per cent of the south London club a little over a year ago, for a reported £190m.

But Johnson and fellow owners Josh Harris, David Blitzer and chairman Steve Parish believe the rising valuations of sport teams, the scarcity of London Premier League clubs and Palace’s recent success in the Conference League justify the ask of close to £1bn.

  • If say our value is £30m ? Are they really worth 30 x Charlton ?

the scarcity of London Premier League clubs

    You mean like -

    Fulham
    Brentford
    Chelsea
    Arsenal
    Spurs

Whilst Manchester & Liverpool only have 2 each

Is this how they're eventually going to build that new stand they've been going on about for years?

Let's be fair - as a club they do predate humanity by several thousand years so they are probably worth it.

You could always use Sainsbury's Nectar points - I believe there is a store close by.

Imagine how much they'd be worth if they actually had a half decent stadium and were actually in London!

Which of these is the worst nearish stadium for going to see the football?

    West Ham?
    Crystal Palace?
    Tottenham?

They own a lot of real estate now ..the footprint of the old NatWest ,the old commercial union ground and the recently acquired HSBC ground probably adds up to 120 million. The latter also has a knock on for cricket leaving new Beckenham CC homeless.

I can't drive down copers cope road anymore without feeling nauseous

Best pitch I ever played Sunday football on was the Nat West one on Copers Cope Road.

And when I left school my first job was with Midland Bank (now HSBC) and had a few sports days at the ground in that road too.

    Such pleasant memories.

Isn't that land all pretty much metropolitan green land/designated sports?  If so then there is no way it is worth £120M no matter the acres.
