Harry Kane

And worked ridiculously hard to get where he has too - he wasn't as naturally talented as say Gazza or Rooney, but has surpassed everyone else.Fortune 82nd Minute said:Don't think there has ever been a player who doesn't play for Charlton that I like as much as Harry Kane.
Good bloke, decent family man who is never on the front pages and above all, an unbelievable footballer and goalscorer.
I doubt his goalscoring record for England will ever be beaten.1 -
He's easily in the top three but I'm not sure if I'd say best ever.0

Imagine having your trophy room full of 125 England caps, then look at the scoring charts to see you’ve just scored your 91st goal.
what an incredible achievement and he’s not finished yet.3 -
If you've got the record appearances and by far the record goals, i think you've got a pretty good case to be the best ever.Chunes said:He's easily in the top three but I'm not sure if I'd say best ever.
He is 11 goals away from matching the totals of Rooney (2nd highest) and Bobby Charlton (3rd highest) combined.
Given he will likely still be around for Euro 2028, he's probably going to end up with 150 caps and 100+ goals.7 -
One of them players that you look at and are amazed they’re so much younger than you are. I look up to him like a boy to a man. Quite sad on my part really but I love him.4

I'm glad he is getting the plaudits he deserves.
The level of disrespect aimed at him because he was a Tottenham player was ridiculous. The move to Munich has given him a complete new lease of life and it certainly helps that he doesn't get flogged now.
Just think, some thought Jamie Vardy was levels above him...

He's unbelievable - actually getting better as he gets older1

Cannot be that good, never scored against us or did he.
Seriously, I am in awe of how good Harry is.
It’s a pity the next major tournament is a couple of years away. Here’s hoping he is still in fine fettle when it comes around.2 -
And he’s done all of this DESPITE playing for Millwall.6
-
I hope for England's sake, that he decides that having a nice life in Bavaria is a better option for him than coming back to Premier League, he'll be better off playing 34 league games and Champions League there, in an environment where he can play 65 minutes and come off when 4 up, then playing 90 minutes week in week out here.3

Still think about the performance against Dortmund this time last year.
One of the easiest man of the match decisions the world has ever seen.0 -
The amazing thing about Kane is, his game took time to develop as a youngster but since Harry turned 30 his all round game has matured and in the recent matches he was even going deep to collect the ball from the keeper as his passing is as good as Trent AA !
Yet he is still in the right place in the area to score some quality goals especially the Anderson/Rogers combo which was sheer perfection from all 3 players.
A quality man on and off the pitch and marrying his childhood sweetheart Katie and his 4 Children has definitely kept him grounded despite being England's greatest ever goal scorer who if he stays fit could/should hit the 100 goal mark for his Country!
Just a quick few words for Jimmy Greaves who scored 44 in 57 apps for the National side but Harry with 91 in 125 apps is having amazing longevity and the demon drink is the big difference between two great goal scorers from 50 years apart.4 -

Interestingly he had a slightly better strike rate (fewer games of course) but Harry is a more complete player and I would have to place him top as our greatest ever striker - Greavsy second. That's strikers, but for me, and he always will be, the greatest England player - Bobby Moore.

When picking greatest players, you have consider what the player does,Moore was a superb defender and captain, but most of his work went unnoticed, the way he read the game, broke up play and set up attacks(Englands 4th against Germany)Harry and other great players will get more attention because they score and make goals. The thing is with Harry,I think he could play anywhere on the pitch,he reads the game,His passing is immaculate,he can run all day,and of course he scores and assists for fun.Even in the illustrious company of Moore,Charlton,Rooney etc.,I dont think England has ever had a better player.bobmunro said:soapboxsam said:The amazing thing about Kane is, his game took time to develop as a youngster but since Harry turned 30 his all round game has matured and in the recent matches he was even going deep to collect the ball from the keeper as his passing is as good as Trent AA !
