Hi everyone, and welcome back after our enforced absence of three weeks..

So, today we entertain Bristol City at The Valley in yet another 12:30 kick off, which seems to be getting a bit of a habit, City arrive today one place, and one point above us in 8th spot after a close 1-0 home win over Watford last time out.

The three week break has hopefully helped getting players back into contention, but on the flip side, players away on International duty have not benefited from training in the last week. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Nathan said: "We're in a significantly better position with pretty much everyone who has been injured." and confirmed that all of our internationals have returned to Sparrows Lane unscathed, however, Collins Sichenje is unfortunately set to be sidelined until the end of the campaign…🤦‍♂️

We've gone head-to-head on 65 occasions, winning 32, the Robins winning 20 and the remaining 13 encounters ending in draws, our last victory in SE7 came on Boxing Day 2019 with Macauley Bonne scoring a brace, and Alfie Doughty completing the scoring, to secure all three points.

Tom Reeves will oversee proceedings this afternoon having taken charge of six games in the EFL so far this season dishing out 24 yellow cards.

Team news…Danny McNamara, captain Lloyd Jones, Koumetio and Edwards make up a back four in front of Arthur Okonkwo.

Oliver Skipp and Conor Coventry partner in midfield with Tyreece Campbell and Karlan Grant expected to play on the wings behind Mbick and Miles Leaburn.

Ramsay is joined on the bench by the returning Will Mannion, Amari'i Bell, Ivan Mesík, Joe Rankin-Costello, Harvey Knibbs, Sonny Carey, Millenic Alli and Charlie Kelman.

Charlton: Okonwko; McNamara, Jones (c), Koumetio, Edwards; Grant, Skipp, Coventry, Campbell; Mbick, Leaburn

Subs: Mannion, Ramsay, Bell, Mesík, Rankin-Costello, Knibbs, Carey, Alli, Kelman

The old 442 formula don't actually mind it tbh.

The lack of a decent No. 10 has forced another formation change. On paper, there are four forwards in the team. I hope we aren't exposed.

    Come on lads!

The other option is that Mbick is in the 10, he played there a couple of times for Colchester

That side look incredibly attacking … could be an exciting game…one way or another!

Love the faith that Jones has in Micah to throw him into the eleven so soon, must have impressed over the break
Cant see this simply being a bit of gamesmanship over the Contract discussions either.

4-2-4, NJ has decided it's time to be an all out attacking manager. Front 4 all from the academy too.

So who have we left out that's not injured?

Reads more like me on FIFA when playing the computer when you go 424 and annihilate every team on world class

No Ouma. Surely some mistake. He has done so well for us.😁

Bindon and Ouma are the likelies, but they've travelled long distance over the International Break and aren’t named Campbell
Nkeng also misses out, he was part of the video of showing arrivals, so just hasn't made the squad

Great to see Billy K back - still no Chalobah?

Cardines, Twine and BDK play for Bristol City. That gives them 3 set piece threats (I think BDK is a set piece guy?). Bristol City love a set piece goal

Alright, Micah. I've said a few things about you that may have seemed harsh. Make me eat 'em and eat 'em well

The only other team with an attacking four out of their own academy in the top leagues this weekend must be Athletic Bilbao

I don’t understand that line up. Leaves us very thin in midfield. Grant and Campbell will have to do their fair share of tracking back.
  • Have we changed to 4-4-2 or is Mbick playing as a 10? 🤷‍♂️

The fact Alli is on the bench probably doesn't bode well for Nkeng's chances of appearing soon

Pleased to see Micah given a chance today, lets hope he can stick one away and prove he is good enough to stay in the squad.

No we haven't, it's always been a 4231 with whoever is in the 10 playing significantly deeper than the striker, even when that player was Grant

Could be Mbick in the 10, though like Grant, he's naturally going to be more attacking rather than a 3rd CM.

Big game for Mbick. I’ve not been impressed so far, time for him to show what he’s got.

While you’re right it’s been 4231 there’s been at least one game where Grants average position was more advanced than Leaburn

Shame there’s no Chalobah, would fancy us to win with him in the team.
