The old 442 formula don't actually mind it tbh.
We’ve been playing that for weeks
No we haven't, it's always been a 4231 with whoever is in the 10 playing significantly deeper than the striker, even when that player was Grant
It’s basically the same thing.  Even back in the day, the centre forwards didn’t stand next to each other .
So a 442 would be a much flatter midfield 4 with the wide midfielders attacking and defending in equal measures. A 4231 has 2 deeper midfielders and someone operating ahead of them in the centre of the park, with 2 more advanced wingers pushing up and supporting the lone striker.

It's not "basically" the same thing, otherwise all formations are "basically" the same thing as they all feature a goalkeeper, 10 outfield players and some of them are defenders and some are attackers
Here he is. Belittling people again.

good to be back ain’t it
    Belittling haha ok mate sure
There’s very little difference between the systems , especially in defence , which we spend most of our time doing .

If you ask NJ or any of the players what formation we line up in, they'll all say......
The players will say they didn't know!  😁

Did Bell play for Jamaica, as he's also unlucky not to play? Suddenly we have lots of left sided options.

I imagine Edwards will be rested on Tuesday
    Yeah, it's a squad game.

  • Please, please, no new injuries for the returning players!

Good to see Edwards back but feel a bit for Mesik, hasn't really put a foot wrong.

Good problem to have. Imagine Mesik will get enough starts over the next few at least with Edwards and Koumetio just back from injuries.

Imagine Jones has gone with Edwards over Mesik as well today, because Josh has been around in training these last few weeks. So he's probably gone for a team that he's been able to work with, and put the most prep in for this match...
TC makes the team because he's TC, and Okonkwo as Goalkeeper is probably less of a concern to worry about in terms of his absense

    Players emerge from the tunnel.

Charlton in traditional red shirts white shorts ... Brizzle wearing (checks Dulux colour chart) "grubby grey".

Is NJ sponsored by Sandbanks clothing these days?
Or doesn’t he have any other gear? 😉😆

Looks a 4-4-2 out of possession at least. Almost 4-2-4 with the ball.

It feels like the start of the season after the last 3 weeks.
We need a response after the Cardiff debacle.
2 central big strikers. I would prefer Kelman alongside Leaburn but it's a time for Mbick to show some of the talent I keep hearing about.
    Welcome back Billy and Josh.
No more injuries and 3 points 🤞🏻
