Timothy Ouma signs on a season long loan

Think that's very harsh... Arthur, as you say, looks great. Mesik hasn't put a foot wrong and can play anywhere, Mac has been solid, Koumetio is class, Chalobah looks a different gravy (given, he is made of glass, so probably can be considered a poor signing if we don't get much more use out of him). Karlan hasn't lived up to what we were hoping, but doesn't look bad and has pitched in with a few goals, and was free.wmcf123 said:
It was unremarkable recruitment , largely due to the low budget . McNamara is ok, so is Grant . Koumetio will be good if he can stay fit . Mesik is fine . Chalobah, Ouma and Alli are or will be duds for a variety of different reasons , in my opinion. The goalkeeper is the real success .fenaddick said:
A mistake on one player is a damning indictment of all our recruitment?AberystwythAddick said:Damning indictment of our recruitment this yearEdit : Skipp is like a less good Coventry. The two together is not a good watch .
Ouma and Alli look duds and Skipp hasn't been great, but harsh on the rest8 -
Don't know if it's been asked already, but what's the rules on terminating a loan contract early? I can understand it's doable when there's an injury but with instances like this, can he be released back to his club and we can add an out of contract player in?0

Imagine he works in your bar and there some shifts he just doesn't show up for, and he doesn't phone in sick either.sam3110 said:Has previous for it but instead of it being anything underhand or nefarious, it's probably a case of a young man (remember he's 22) taking the opportunity of being back home to touch base with his family before flying back to Europe.
Think there's a lot of people in life that like to pile on regarding things like this without taking into account the human beings behind the athletes

Was not exactly a miss today so if we want shot of him in January then crack on.
The question that needs answering is then why bring him when he had previous in the first place5 -
And you'd already warned them that this can't happen again, as you'd heard he previously had a reputation for not turning up to work (which I'm sure people at the club did)Chunes said:

No, he can’t be replacedSheepie1985 said:Don't know if it's been asked already, but what's the rules on terminating a loan contract early? makes the decision to sign him even worse then.fenaddick said:

Just disappointing really stuck with him until Jan now and it's clear he's broken trust with Nathan which we know is very hard to regain.2
-
The positive is it might free up space for a Chalobah style player to come in in January and we have 2 months to work out who that is. I notice Holsgrove has had a decent start to the season...MarcusH26 said:Just disappointing really stuck with him until Jan now and it's clear he's broken trust with Nathan which we know is very hard to regain.4 -
If the club didn't include any conditions in the loan agreement, that was a poor decision.
The irony if we end up cancelling Doc's contract and his replacement's before ten games into the season.1 -

I'd be hoping the budget is there for a Holsgrove type regardless of what the ownership situation is.fenaddick said:

Frees up a January squad space. Our midfield is awful and poorly addressed this summer. Ouma is a dud on and off the pitch and gawd knows why anyone ever spent £25M on Skipp, no wonder Leicester fans hate him. Dreadfully average footballer.7
-
Thank god it was a loan deal, can hopefully like A.Campbell send him packing in January and bring someone in on loan to replace him till the end of the year1
-
Oh absolutely it's freeing up the squad space too.fenaddick said:

Pretty much everything around this signing is looking like a disaster9

Well as Louis and Rich say in the podcast, sometimes a refusal to answer a question is itself an answer. They also say there's no way our management weren't fully aware of him doing this last season to Lech Poznan, who stuck in him in the reserves as a result. (But he got back in, and they went on to finish as champions- but then again, Lech seem not to have shown any interest in getting him back)
He had to know, therefore, that there are consequences to doing something like this. Even if it was a family issue of some kind, he would surely have been able to contact the club. I was really hoping he'd be a success, since I'm surrounded by Slavia fans locally. But none of them have ever heard of him anyway, because he never made their first team.
From the way NJ answered, I fear he is guilty as charged. What a muppet.11 -
First thing we'd do is sit down with them, ask them for an explanation and see if there's anything we can do on our end to help and work out if there's a genuine issue or if they're just playing the system and fucking about.Chunes said:

Bit different when they're doing such a privileged career being paid silly money. By the sound of it he didn't let the club know either which would be frowned upon in any job. I reckon he'll be sent back tbh as will go against terms of his contract.5

If we can send him back I would and save the wages. Not as if we will miss him.1

If this turns out to be true and there is not a reasonable justification for it, then I suspect it’ll be one of two things getting “put out”, either:
1) Ouma’s lights when NJ gets a hold of him, or
2) A bin bag of Ouma’s stuff on the methaphorical Sparrow’s Lane front lawn along with a one way flight back to Prague.
Just can’t see NJ tolerating it, but especially as Ouma’s had a bit of an inauspicious start to his playing time here.Looking increasingly like one we’ll be referencing in years to come in the same way we still talk about Omar Pouso. Pity if that’s how it plays out - we could really use a midfielder like we thought he was going to.2 -
Bunch of softies FoH. I'd have got a frying pan thrown at my head. If I was lucky.sam3110 said:

Probably why kitchens and chefs get a bad rep and the bar team in my establishment has the lowest staff turnover in the place by far.Chunes said:

Some people respond to the hairdryer (or frying pan) treatment, some need an arm around them.
Obviously what he's done is wrong and not in keeping with the standards and expectations of him, my post was highlighting the fact that no-one knows what's going on in his head when he makes these decisions seemingly every time he goes on duty, and maybe someone getting to the bottom of that with him will actually solve the problem, but I'm sure the club are handling it already how they see fit1 -

I was just joking. Those old school kitchens were not a healthy place to be.sam3110 said:

Even "new school" kitchens are far behind the norm. Plenty of guys I work with pull 15/16 hour shifts with maybe a 20 mins window to have a meal in, often still standing at their station in the kitchen.Chunes said:

Anyway we're moving away from the original subject, which is that whilst Ouma isn't a fantastic footballer, and he has previously arrived late from international breaks, I hope for his sake the club are treating it with due care and attention and not just telling him to fuck off, and despite some on here voicing that's what they would like us to do, I'd also like to think that some can see that there might be a bit more to this story and his actions overall.
All speculation and innocent until proven guilty etc1 -
Very quickly at a place where if Alan Mwamba doesn't develop quickly we are pretty stuck. Gotta hope Chalobah is back soon.
Cov and Skipp doesn't work as a pairing but right now it's all we've got. And I'm worried that we will run them into the ground and ine will pick up an injury then we really are screwed.
Has Kayne Ramsay ever played CM?1
