We put our first one up yesterday.  Yes, seriously.

I was joking my work colleagues last week, as soon as Haloween is done, Mrs JB would want the tree up.

One tree up, not decorated mind you.  I've half emptied the Xmas Decs loft, and the rest will come down next weekend when Mrs JB is back from her work trip.  Happy wife... happy life!

She wants to buy a 9ft Xmas tree now, this is the 8ft one from our old house and its too short for our ceilings.  We could have funded a 3rd world country for all the money she spends on Xmas!  Sigh.
Is there a legal minimum limit to how much space you have between ceiling and fairy/star?

Freaks. Then again I've got Christmas socks on today. Didn't have another pair in the draw. Roll on new socks and boxers for Xmas.

Spurs' season is usually over by Christmas, so you might as well bring it forward  ;)

If you think that’s early, I’ve just ate a hot cross bun!

If it's on their lawn or somewhere in their front garden, that's ridiculous. Far too early. Someone needs to have a word with them. chop the fucking thing down

But if it's inside their house, they need to watch out for stalky, nosey neighbours...

You’ll need a taller wife/bigger ladder [delete as appropriate] if she buys a 9ft tree.

It's not for me, but in a world of little cheer (at times) if it makes them happy (it must do) then let them crack on.
Fair point.  Although there is the chance one parent has done it to annoy the other parent.

Use some nomorenails and stick a white cardboard box to the ceiling above the tree thus reducing the gap.
Tell her it’s part of the stairwell, she’ll never notice. Job done.

Surely it's cheaper to put in a false ceiling and keep the existing tree?

And that is what I done last night, the first night she was away.  Found a wooden crate in the garage the perfect size.  No doubt not in the xmas spirit to deny her and the kids another tree and I'm always thinking of my wallet... (something along the lines I went to the bar and bought one for myself...)

I haven't counted them but she tells me its 4,000 leds.  The 9ft one has 7,000 FFS.

I used to love the old square Cheeselets, but dont like the above version so gave up on them. But recently I discovered in Tesco you can get packets of the old fashion Cheeselets by a different manufacturer they are the old square shape and thin like the originals but with a stronger cheese flavour and they are actually called Cheeselets as well.
