Just watching the highlights of the nigeria game and one of their players missed an open goal from literally three yards away bang in the middle of the goal

Super Yak.0

i saw that , that has seriously got to be a contender for the worst miss ever
surely anybody who doesnt even play football , could easily have tapped that in
it would have put them thru aswell wouldnt it??0 -
Not as bad as the one by teammate Kanu when playing for WBA a few years back but it was right up there0
-
Yakubu's miss has to be up there in the top three of all time. My onw favourite is Ronnie Rosenthal's back in the early 90's.0
-
Worst miss ever? certainly up there with Ronny Rosenthal and Chris Iwelumo.0
-
Shearer reckons its the worst he's ever seen and he's played upfront with Chris Sutton.0
-
It was absolutely shocking. Imagine how much he would have been destroyed if he missed the pen aswell.0

I'm pretty sure harrys nan would have managed to tap it in0 -
Was it worse than Andy Jones vs. Liverpool at Selhurst Park (late 80's I think)?
Open goal - 2 yards out - ended up in Sainsbury's - club foot!0 -
just shows what happens when you are all one foot...........any decent two footed player would have put it in with their left.0

Or Andy Jones away at Oldham in the days when they had a plastic pitch!0 -
or Andy Jones (I'm sure it was him) away at Oxford from virtually under the cross bar0

I'd say that the Oldham miss is the worst I can recall seeing!0 -
I remember Pringle missing an absolute sitter away at Walsall which was amongst the worst i've seen by a Charlton player.0
-
Mooney away at Southend....0

Yak's miss is up there with Kanu's - truly awful misses - but you could argue that both balls came in at pace and were spinning a lot....
whereas this guy had no excuse.

what makes it worse is that he didn't even need to touch it as it was rolling in anyway.0 -
