Sum up the situation for me please. Didnt read anything into Roan stuff last week and as such made no comment. Are people now convinced something is happening?

So from being 'close' it's now only 'genuine interest'.

Keep on back tracking Mr Roan
  • I am sad to see the parting of the ways between fans and resent the feeling that I have to choose between takeover thread factions.

    Is this another cliqueist thing?

No this is the opposite. We need to build a new inclusive TO thread that welcomes diversity while empowering posters.

The old us and them policies of the old threads was destroying us all.

    Time for Change.

This new takeover thread has split fans between those who think it's divisive and those who think it's inclusive

This thread has caused more rifts than it has healed.

The official takeover thread is the only one worth reading. FACT

Clem I'm not sure what, if anything, is happening. There are so many opinions and comments across various threads both on here and on 606. I'm in the 'lets see what happens camp', the only reason I posted Dan's latest comment to the qestion posed by Baggo87, was that now there 'appears' to be more than 1 interested party and he (dan) seems to think the excitment level should be around 7/8 out of 10. If, as people on here have said he is a good and reliable journo, then perhaps, just perhaps there is something in all this. In the fullness of time we will find out, my own opinion is that if there is a takeover then it has to be for the good of the club only, and that has to be RM's overidding objective! Personally I'll be happy to see the team keep winning on the pitch and just wait and see what transpires in the boardroom.

More than one party? Oh no, it's the fucking coalition! We're in trouble now...my excitement level is at 4...but then I am 50 years old and don't take mind-altering chemicals...

Agreed Henry. I rekon that there could be a grant available from Greenwich Council to help achieve those aims.

Henry, like Blair you must now hope that history will judge you well as the present is causing much ill feeling.

This takeover thread could be your WMD

Missed the point six of nuts

Not a duplicate thread but a desperately needed fresh start that will save Charlton Life from internal strife and anarchy.

    There is no alternative.

According to news of the world PETER RIDSDALE offers 11m but Murray is more interested with the OTHER interested party
  • Ridsdale...NOOOOO!!!
  • Beat me to it Smithy!!

Do we want Ridsdale in charge?
I saw him at Wembley last month on the blower if only I had known I would have asked him what his plans were? Lol

So the piece I posted yesterday from Dan Roan to Baggo87 does have some credence, where he stated there was more than 1 party interested. However if one is Ridsdale....I'll be happy if RM say's 'NO' and pursues the other option.
Just a question though....is the Ridsdale option the tie-in with Dennis Wise which I'm sure I read on one of the takeover threads that he was snifing around again?

Apart from Simon Jordan I can't think of anyone much worse than Ridsdale to be involved in any possible takeover. I have faith in Muzza to make the right decision though.

thanks mog... mind you i done a search and someone on a cardiff fans site posted a comment (back in July??) that risdale was setting his sites on us... so at the mo i Guess the 2 parties are probably him and Seb Sainsbury..... too much of a co-incidence for Sainsbury NOT to be involved...(you don't set up a conpany called CAFC10 and not to want to try and buy us. Obviously a reason for it. he didn't do it for nothing. Risadale no thanks.. he buggered up Leeds, then Cardiff, pls be the other one

and @bbc_matt throws his hat into the rumour mill. poor guy doesn't realise how much grief he's just opened himself up to with over sensitive charlton fans

Agreed Ridsdale would be a huge blow. How much choice does Murray really have at the end of the day though ? He desperately needs out and let's just hope that Murrays preferred buyer is credible otherwise ?

    Here's the quote tweet

#cafc fans, there's more 2 takeover saga than NOTW reports. 2, maybe 3 bids, board split, interesting cast. Will tell all asap

Board of only 5 directors split, imagine how it would have been before the restructure.

hoping air mans post above is true then. God its a bit nerve wracking.
  • I presume sainsbury and risdale may have met when SS went for Leeds, I for one hope Sainsbury and Risdale are working together. I want neither anywhere near The Valley directors box, if they are together, there must be someone else interested with more credibility!
