    Might be, Bowman.

It's around midnight down under ....... so just back from the pub.

You want to see AFKA's posts, when he just gets back from the pub. Legendary.
    And he's our leader.

Just watched the CP interview on player....I thought he was inspiring.....he will bring what we've been missing for so long back to the valley....passion to wear the shirt, and an eagerness to win.
Fantastic interview from a genuinely nice person who only wants CAFC to be back at the Top table.....it brought a tear or two to my eyes.....once again welcome home Chris!!
  • Gary Johnson was interviewd for the role.

The director of football role is worthy of debate on its own. It is one that I quite like especially if you are a young manager. The problem with it is that if you don't get the managers approval with singings then you have to ensure that the players being suggested don't get in.

If it is suggested players that the manager agrees on then the system is a match made in heaven.

The manager is free to just manage on the field of play and not worry about the scouting network the youth team or contracts.

It is something we have not done before and at this time I think it is right that we look to utilise the option.

The relationship between Chris powell and the dof is critical to both the club, chrissy and the dof

Just watched the Interview all over again....I love that bloke, I cant wait for him to mould this rag tag bunch into his own side....At least we will be rid of that vile atmosphere down at the Valley now, this bloke has/will reunite us....he knows what we want, he knows where we came from....we now have to do our part and make sure we support him in numbers...I'm definetly going to Rochdale now and a bit gutted to be missing the February games.....onwards now and upwards....its going to take time, but for the first time since about 2005....I believe.

... and I think that is key in moving forward ... my main reason to be optimistic about the future

  • Does anyone know what time the press conference is today? Wonder if Sky will deem it important enough to show on SSN?

Looks like being a busy day today. Powell's first day and the world's media descending on Valley for press conference at 2.30pm.

No Sky decided not to do it live and are recording it. So you might get a 10 second clip of it about 39 mins of the hour for the next 5.

Will watch it on player when its up and running.

Bloody typical Sky, been sitting in front of TV waiting for a mention of CAFC press conference and not a word, then we get the bloody Eddie Howe one at Burnley!!

Powell admits he won’t be a soft touch and there will be times when he will have to be forceful with the players.

“If you’ve had a footballing career for 24 years, you’ve got to have something in your system that means you want to be number one,” he said.

“I’ve realised at times being a coach, you have to show that and be a strong and forceful character.”

CP's appointment has taken me from a feeling of helplessness and despair to one of hopefulness and elation. There couldn't have been a better appointment.

He will be learning in his first managerial role but the vast majority of us will be behind him and our support will be invaluable.

So the key thing for me is that this puts us as fans right back in the frame and we can make a difference once again, as in past years.

Whether or not we go up this year is now less important, as I'm sure whatever happens we will be building for the future.
  • Oy - give him back - NOW.

Seriously I've come to wish him all the best. He'll be missed at Leicester and you'll struggle to find a Leicester supporter who has a bad word to say against him.

I hope he does really well for you, except if you happen to come against us of course ;)

Cheers ll - I think you'll struggle to find any football supporter who will have a bad word against him.

Fingers crossed it works out, if there is a bloke who deserves it in football then it's Powelly.
