Disagree about Jackson doing little other than score.

He was decent at FB and once he went wide left the whole shape of the team improved. We were tighter and more solid but we still carried a goal threat especially down his side.

His passing and defending have been consistently good and he has set up a number of moves that lead to goals other than his own.

He has been a huge miss while injured.

Big Joe would be close if he's played more games as when he is on the pitch he has an impact and, like, Jackson, gives a lot more to the team play and shape than just what he does on the ball.

jackson has to win it , he knows how to cross a ball unlike anyone who played the other night

i can't believe the number of players who actually don't know/can't consistantly kick a ball properly in our team

Semedo for me, he looked gutted to come second last season.

As for those saying don't do it this year, I don't actually think the players have been indiviudally worse this year than on other years, espcially the season with the worst run or results ever.

Anyone know when the dinner is going to be or how to get a ticket for it?

I am a big Semedo fan, but he has tailed-off this season.

Jacko deserves it, and should be our captain next season IMHO.

There is real interest from Championship sides in taking Jacko from us (no promotion means another £1m is needed by CAFC), but winning this vote may just be enough to convince him to stay.

Semedo and Racon will probably both leave this summer.

Whilst I would certainly agree that players value winning this award, any who believes it is enough to persuade someone to stay is on crack.
Would you forego career and pay progression just because your boss gave you a nice trophy?

Depending on how the season ends who knows BWP might have done good enough for half the season the get the award.

    hahahah not likely

  • If Joe A is in the frame, then so must be Big Mig, if he can keep up his impressive form over the seven games we have to play over the next month, prior to voting. He's certainly been our most impressive defender - although over an admittedly limited number of appearances.

Where and when did Anyinsah acquire this 'Big Joe' nickname, by the way? It rather passed me by. I presume its ironic, as at 5'8'', he's the same height as BWP and closer to Paul Williams than Carl Leaburn. Even Mendoca was two inches taller than 'Big Joe'!

Should we now start calling our star attacker 'Big Bad Brad' ? And at five inches taller than either BWP or Anyinsah, is Benson (who rumours reaching my ears say could be heading back to D&R next season) ironically to be known as 'Wee Paul' ?

Semedo has carried the team, even when he himself has been below-par. Him and Dailly have been consistent; Jackson I'm not entirely convinced by but he has that knack of being in the right place at the right time, and, er, scoring half his goals through penalties.

    What about Luke Daniels?

    Neil Etheridge for me.
  • Racon. More class than rest of side put together. If defenders choose to lump it over his head it's their problem (and ours)._

Has to be Jacko although I quite like the idea boycotting the whole thing as no one has been truly outstanding.

Would have been Jenkinson but he has annoyed me so not anymore.
    Probably Jackson or maybe Solly.

This could be the lowest vote count in years.

I honestly can't vote for Jackson, he scored a few headers and pens.
Big wow, he is slow and clueless otherwise.
    Therefore, I'm out.

It's strange, I haven't found this season as depressing as the relegation from the Championship, but even that year there was a definite standout player in Nicky Bailey.

I'll vote for Jacko if I can find someone to take my voting slip. Never bought into the argument that penalties "don't count" in the goalscoring stakes - you've still got to put them away. As do headers - in reference to Jarman above!
