unreal how brilliant our players, not in the team, become
  • win a game is turning the corner, tonight could well be the night.
  • There is a major shake up of the squad promised and perhaps as many as 25 or even 30 transfers, in and out, in the summer.

Whatever the results between now and the end of the season they can tell us little as it will be, according to Slater, a completely different squad.

Individual performances could be indicators and especially for the loans and the youngsters but no corners will be turned or leaps taken forward until after May 7th.

surely results will tell us something about the manager's ability to get the best out of a squad ?

We already know he can't get a response from this squad. Is that him or the squad?

No, 14 out of contract players plus five loans so that's about 15 going out. Then there's the in-contract players that Powell doesn't fancy so maybe another 5 there.

To replace them we need at least the same number of bodies coming thru the door so 10 to 15 in. That's 25 transfers/loans easy.
  • It's going to be a interesting summer.

Wonder what sort of transfer budget CP will have, as even free transfers require signing on fees. And to buy a whole new squad (if thats true) then it's going to take some wonga.

Must be some serious Cash there :-o

exactly....people forget how much of a liability Youga could be at times
  • Youga was our most improved player when he played last season, probably found his level. Everytime he was going forward he looked dangerous, so he has been a miss. Shame this injury has effectively ended his career.
  • I wouldn't say he's turned the corner. He's slowed down and started indicating.
  • I am sorry but that newspaper article is a load of tripe. A run of three wins on the trot, now that is what i call turning the corner. Two draws against teams near the top should be the least we expect from a Charlton team.
  • If we had got beat by a couple of goals on Saturday, we couldn't have complained too much so whilst the Southampton game suggested something might be changing, the Bournemouth game didn't reinforce that. What it could have done is helped to improve confidence a little but we need a win tonight. A defeat - which I feel is the most likely outcome - and we won't have turned any corners.
