    Great idea.

Born June 17, 1976. On 21 August, 1976, Charlton went down 0-2 to Cardiff. 9,762 at The Valley.

In fact, they didn't win until 10 Sept, 1976, 4-3 over Luton Town. (Hales hatrick).

Finished the season 7th in the Second Division. Killer was sold on that year.

I think that was our first home game of the season & I seem to remember the Taffs invading the pitch prior to kick off. Aah the good old days.

Next Charlton match... 27 August - Charlton 0 Liverpool 3

We lost 3 of our first 4 matches of the 88/89 season by 3-0 scorelines, to Liverpool, Millwall and Coventry respectively (with a 1-3 victory over West Ham in between)... we then drew 3 of our next 4 league games 2-2!
That was the Selhurst game when Ronny Rosenthal scored the "perfect" hat-trick. Right foot, left foot & a header, (not necessarily in that order). I think also our record crowd at Selhurst @28,000.

Covered End, no it wasn't - Rosenthal's hattrick came the following season in an evening game.

That game that ISawLeaburnScore mentioned did feature a hattrick from John Aldridge I think
  • Saturday 23 Dec 1950 lost at home to Blackpool 2-3.

Also on that day Liverpool (my Dad's Team) lost 3-1 to Norwich ending their 10 match unbeaten run ... yes he still mentions it even though they still won the flippin league on the final day

When my son was born last year on May 8th we lost to Oldham 2-0

Will aim to have any future kids between mid May and end of July !!!!!

You feel old, Henry? I feel bloody ancient reading these dates!  There must be some others from the original Div 1 days, surely!
  • 30 April 1960 beat Portmsouth at home 6-1.  Born that morning - best result so far on here.  Must be a Charlton fan who arrived on theday of the Huddersfield 7-6 game.

That would be a 2-1 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest.

Born 7th July 1960. Next League Game - Scunthorpe Utd at Home 1-1 on 20th Aug 1960.

Why do we play Scunthorpe at home on the opening day of the season whenever we are in
    the same division?

BR7_addick - look it up on Statto.com. Search Results - Calendar - choose the date.
