mind you - if we save on his wages, maybe we could offer Jose a bit more.

He was, one of our better players for sure, but I think it's time he left. Had plenty of chances to really stake a claim of being one of the first on the team sheet but he never quite managed it.

Can't wait for him to throw a strop down there for being subbed.  I'm sure they'll be most understanding.

good luck I say, he's going to need it.

As far as I am concerned both Racon & Semedo can go, both part of a midfield that has failed for three seasons running. Time to let a new midfield emerge.

or perish the thought have to stand 15 yards to the left of where he wants

notice as well he's signed a contract starting 1st July so if we have signings agreed there is no reason for us not to do the same, no need to actually wait until 1st July to announce them.

I'll be less bothered once I see a few some proven players coming in.

I wouldnt say Racon was "proven", hence the "meh"

Think he is a quality footballer, and the best performing player we had last season, so think a number of comments on here are harsh.

For the year ahead though, i think his big drain on our wage bill could be better utilised elsewhere.

So he has signed for Millwall ? Rather him than me, but not bothered enough to give him any flack. Players chase the money where they can nowadays.

  • Racon leaving means as it stands Alan McCormack will be first choice CM next season B-)
Can't we throw Macca in as well?

LEN GLOVER SAID: The question for me is whether or not for the £6k a week we allegedly paid Racon  we can get as consistently good or better.

I personally think we can. If Millwall want to pay him £6k a week or close to it let them do it.

    That's a cracker Len!  Racon...consistently good? :-D
  • If the rumours are true about Racon to Millwall , he won't last very long there , i can't see the Millwall fans being as tolerant as ours , before they make their voices heard.

Don't think i can be criticised for changing my tune - flatters to decieve, over rated and synonymous with 4 years of turgid, heartless football. As the song goes 'Thierry Racon, be glad when you're gone, Thierry Racon, be glad when you're gone. Hope he finds a nice peaceful spot on the pitch before kick off to do his prayers - particularly once they've rumbled him.

'macca' round my way means dog s**t, so if your saying what i think your not really saying but im making a thinly vailed joke out of it anyway by going on to long like this... then yes, lets throw 'macca' in aswell!!!

Statbank Player of the Year.  Not sure if it says more about us, him or the rest of the team!
  • Racon has got quality , unfortunately it was rarely shown, or shown only when he was in the mood , almost like he fancied himself as a Premier league player, and didn't want to put the work in at this level to get there, or am i being harsh?

Looks like I am in the minority here, but I think its a shame that he has gone...........one of our better footballers and just hope we aren't left with McOxo to gill the gap left with Racon leaving.

I wish him well & expect him to do an Ambrose & set The Championship alight

So of you can't see talent when its staring you in the face...............

Undergoing a medical? I assume that means he's having his head examined for wanting to go to Millwall
  • Golf i don't doubt he's got talent , its just the fact you have got to show it consistantly , and in my book since he's been here he hasn't done it enough , i compare him to buying a nice car that has no air conditioning , when it gets hot you say ... i wish i'd gone for the air conditioning , well Racon for me doesn't have the air conditioning , sorry to go off topic!

I'm more happy that we've got Sullivan from them than I am disappointed Racon has gone there.

They found a heart during his medical? And some testicles?

Blimey. Millwall's medical department did a fine job.

In Racon's interview on Millwall's OS, he describes them as a "big club".

Only just signed and he's taking the piss out of them already.

  • '“But I hope he realises what he will have let himself in for if he does move to The Den from the Charlton fans he's made a lot of effort to mingle and integrate with at every fans' evening he has participated in since joining the Addicks.”

    I must have missed those?

I think with good coaching, abit of encouragement he is a very decent player. He's at Wall now so f**k him.

The Guadeloupe international told the club's official website: "As soon as my agent told me of Millwall's interest I was happy to sign here. "

Didn't give us a second thought, lets move on.

He has technical ability and I am certain that there is a very good player in there somewhere but I doubt that the New Den is the place for that to flourish. If The Valley faithful lost patience with him then I think the knuckle draggers will possibly destroy him unless he has more in his locker than I have ever noticed.

he has gone to a big club like millwall shame as any club losing decent players to a rival club is upsetting lets hope we have lost Racon to replace him with Stewart?

i also hope powell has some aces up his sleeve
