A good player who didn't have many good matches for us, one of our better players in a side which finished mid table in the third division. His wages were too high and he had to go. It will be interesting to see how he does in the championship with better players around him.

wonder if it will ever be confirmed on the CAFC Official Site? Same as will we ever announce that Anyinsah, Reid etc have been released. All this wait until 1st July guff is just that, guff. Racon has signed a contract from 1st July. If we have done the same then why not tell us ?
In Racon's case I'm sure it will be announced shortly. However, for Anyinsah and Reid I guess there's a minute possibility that we'll make a u-turn and offer them a deal. Hence no point in announcing it until 1 July.

Either way, it doesn't really matter.

So there's rumours about Racon going to Millwall, I wonder if they're true?

Would never happen, he told me he thought we were a bigger club than them anyway!
  • Usual rubbish on here when one of our better players joins a rival for peanuts (see Darren Ambrose)

On his day a cut above, but didnt have his day often enough but to say we wont miss him is quite frankly ludicrous.

Think he will do well at The Den as long as he dodges the bananas down there.

The man was a waste of time, what success has he and his collegue in the center of our midfield brought us since their arrival at our club, time to start afresh. I dont care where he's gone, just pleased he's gone so that we can change things and move forward.

Like Lloyd Sam at Leeds, he will disappear without trace. Millwall fans like a hard working player who puts his foot in when it gets tough. He is the opposite. He's a lightweight, plays tippy tappy football and has no end product.

    Spot on.

I think with good coaching, abit of encouragement he is a very decent player. He's at Wall now so f**k him.

The Guadeloupe international told the club's official website: "As soon as my agent told me of Millwall's interest I was happy to sign here. "

Didn't give us a second thought, lets move on.

Why would he? Hes a foreign footballer playing in league 1. As if he cares about local rivalrys.
  • where has all this talk of millwall fans not being a patient as us come from - they may well be inbreed thugs but they are a lot more patient with theyre team than we are with ours, they understand where they are and where theyve come from. They dont think they're a 'big club' and arn't deluded like the vast majority of our fans.

I'm sorry to see him go but only because I think he's been a wasted talent, but to be honest don't think we'll miss him, i'd rather have a player who performs 6-7/10 every week than one who performs 9/10 for 2 weeks then 3-4/10 for the rest of the season

No idea if we are more or less patient than you lot (Morison was getting enough stick when he first signed), but I think what most Charlton are referring to is that he won't be allowed to shirk his responsibilities & tackles at The Den cos if he pulls out of a tackle he'll know about it, like Dave Martin go it from Jackett & other players for bottling a challenge.

good player, but Powell couldn't get anything out of this decent squad so might as well offload them all tbh

If racon could become consisent he'll easily be one of the top midfielders in the championship, knowing our luck thats exactly what he'll do.

Never mind, all knew he was leaving tbh, well I did. need new midfield, Mr Powell has his plans im sure.

Predictable reaction on Twitter. Apparently has betrayed us, has been called a judas and people can't understand why he'd sign for them.

Any rivalry means little if anything to players, even English players. Why would it bother Racon? He gets to stay in London and move up a division.

There wouldn't have been so much debate over the last couple of years if he really was class or useless. He's just a decent player, sign a good right replacement and we'll be fine.

I'm not convinced that he's going to "do an Ambrose". He's not a goalscorer like Ambrose was (neither is he a creative midfielder). We might hear that he's doing well for them, but we're not going to see him on the Millwall highlights getting bags of goals and assists all season long.

he must have been really desperate, and so must they, and we must have offered him eff all. Was probably time to move on, are he and Semedo the last of the pre Parky mob?
  • He's only been signed to add some more depth, can't see him starting...unless Trotter is being sold....bloody hope not!

I can't help thinking his recent International cameo's have helped him win this contract.

Ability? yes. But one game in 3? Not good enough.

Didn't Powelly say he wanted to keep him?

Don't look like Slater and Jiminez tried too hard.

From a close source within the club:-

Trotter of Millwall having a medical at the Valley this afternoon, and due to sign tonight after terms were agreed by both parties.

    so farewell then thierry

re comparisons with ambrose ... we cant be bitter about darren succeeding when he left as he didnt perform for US ,same with our Guadeloupe "international" ,hes been the epitome of the curates egg with us ,perhaps a change will do both parties good ,But personally i dont think he will turn out to be a good signing for our neighbours

It seems they would like a couple of our other players too(this i found on one of their forums):

"I wouldn't mind seeing Kyle Reid and that Wagstaff join us. Reckon that a
cheeky £1 / 1.2m bid for the both of them should secure the deal."

    :-D
