Keep it coming - Bus info about  Lepe to Seville would be useful.
Taxi or Bus to Huelva (about 30km) then train or bus to Sevilla

http://www.damas-sa.es/ for bus Lepe - Huelva and Huelva - Sevilla

Not recommended. Will be very hot for long distance driving, probably breaking 40 in central/southern spain and the service stations are not exactly "safe"

ViaMichelin calculates 72.70Euro in tolls and just over 2000km calais to sevilla
  • Bourne if you are stuck for travel plans then there are enough airports that serve the area within 3 hour travelling time by road or rail and the connections are generally quite good, although I appreciate it is short notice to book: e.g. Seville, Málaga, Jerez de la Frontera, Faro

    Hmmm interesting...

Cardiff have announced an entirely different venue for the match that is about half an hour away - just the 3 conflicting venues now!

    Estadio Guadalquivir de Coria C.F.

    Carrascalejos 16,41100 Coria del Río

Confirmed venue change to that of my last post, in coria del rio

M-140 bus goes there from Paseo de las Delicias in the centre of Seville.

To clarify Isaw please, is that new venue half an hour from the city centre?  And what time is kick off for that one?  Sorry running out of time to research for myself..
    cheers..

  • yes from what i can work out Coria del Rio is between 20 and 30 minutes from city centre on the M-140 bus which you catch from Paseo de las Delicias which is near Puerta Jerez in central Sevilla. Buses leave at 20 & 50 past each hour. return buses are hard to get time exact as time given on spanish bus website is when the bus actually leaves its start point not when it leaves Coria del Rio. My best estimates are around 2155, 2240 and 2325. You want to get off at the stop Avenida Andalucia (Pena Betica) in Coria del Rio. price is i think 1.40 each way. taxi i would imagine would be 25-30euros but that is a total shot in the dark.

kick off is 1930 as far as i can tell despite earlier confusion when the website claimed it had been put back.

Lunchtime plane from London City to Faro cancelled yesterday (Sunday) so had to go from Gatwick on 17.40 which left a couple of hours late. Ended up sat a couple of rows behind the players who seemed to be getting on well seeing the number of new faces in the group.

British Airways - the club used to have a deal with them - maybe still does - there was about 30 in the party.

You mean the club didn't charter their own plane? Thought one of the mystery arab owners would have owned an airline.

shame that if Williams hasn't travelled. thought he looked good against Welling although his record is against him. Must not have impressed in training I guess.

We need to set our sights much higher. The bloke was a laughing stock at Yeovil. His record is abysmal. Nothing suggests this will change. He's not a newcomer.

I'd rather sign no one and put Popo in the squad every week.

Was he a laughing stock at Yeovil? I know nothing about Williams but just because he does not score- doesn't mean he is not a good player, maybe he brings a lot more to the table as a CF. I know strikers are judged on goals, but Shaun Bartletts goal record was average but he was a key player for us for a while.

Admittedly he was released by Yeovil but maybe it is a bit premature to write Williams off.

Ridiculous comparison to Bartlett. Look at the level he was playing at.

If we sign this bloke it is a backward step. We have the ability to get better. We should be aiming higher end of.

if he can't win over yeovil fans. he is pissing against the wind trying to win over our fans. we have a lot higher standards than them.

It is not a ridiculous comparison- as it is obviously relative to the position we are now in. Of course Bartlett v Williams- Bartlett would win hands down, but for League 1- Williams could be as effective.

He could be, but the signs aren't good, although he obviously did well at Welling the other day.

The Yeovil fans were amazed that we were looking at him, however.

Maybe he can be a good player somewhere, but we should really be aiming higher, I think.

Last year in pre-season I would (to some degree) have understood giving this sort of player a go. We didnt have a pot to piss in.

The calibre of our other signings show we are no longer shopping in Lidl.

This bloke, if he is lucky, will end up in the conference.
  • I don't think there was anything to lose in giving Williams a trial. He used to be with us at Youth level so probably still has contacts at the club (or Jeff Vetere via Aston Villa?). I believe that he used to be a defensive midfielder who converted to striker, so his overall goals/games record will reflect this.

All clubs take on lots of players for trials but most don't get signed. The wider the net is cast the greater the chance of catching a quality fish.

Or might be one they look some more at on return.
