    In all fairness I don't know much about IT and i dont care either. Its a job pays the way etc, and if your PC has crashed then I don't want your life story about it.

    Make you right, all the woman here are either FAR to old for me (like our receptionist), the juniors are too young and the lawyers are just too boring.

    16/17 may be legal, it's just not acceptable.

    Application support for a local authority (not that I actually work for them any more, cos we got outsourced in November). Due to the tendency to reorganise every couple of years, my role keeps changing. Started off doing low level unix sysadmin stuff, spent quite a long time on income distribution, e-payments and BACS, and now spend most of my time doing SQL DBA stuff for the new parking system, with the occasional bit of Cognos for payroll.

    No mate - I didn't work for an authority - i worked for the central appeals commission (legal tribunal). I bet my mate would have dealt with him all the time though - he ran the administration side of things and had to talk to the LAs all the time

    Sorry Stu, the authority I do support work for is so tight on cancelling tickets that it doesn't even cancel tickets that the council's own vehicles incur. The department concerned has to transfer money from its own budget to the Environment department to pay for them.
