  • 40% of Champ signings so far have been from overseas. Will be interesting to see if we are behind the curve in the trend here
I think your English lower league scouting is always going to be that much better if you’re coming up from league one as you will have played all the players before and have a better feel for them. Therefore I think it’s more natural that we will recruit more locally this summer.

I also think Jones likes to get to know players before he signs them which is easier to do for someone playing in England or Scotland.

Louie Barry signs for Sheffield United on a season-long loan
  • Louie Barry signs for Sheffield United

Louie Barry has bags of talent at only 22 last month.
A good signing as he is definitely capable of being a championship player with a club that are contenders.
That is if United don't have a hangover from the disappointing business end to the 24/25 campaign.
  • Michael Smith gone to Preston
  • Sheffield United have signed Anton Polendakov for an undisclosed fee. He is an 18 year old defender, and Bulgarian under 21 international.
  • If we finish above both Sheffield clubs we'll have a great season. If we only finish above one we might in a relegation dog fight

Why is their 'revolutionary' ai scouting model only spitting out players from Bulgaria? Bizarre

Once again Preston do their scouting by checking who's mentioned on Charlton Life  ;)

I would have liked Smith, but it was probably unlikely he'd come down south now

It's probably decided their underlying numbers are good and being in Bulgaria means they are undervalued, only needs 1 of them to be a success really

I don't fancy his commute over Snake Pass every day.
