Most stupid footballer of the season, Ekitike of LIverpool. On a yellow card, scores a goal then takes his shirt off and gets a second yellow.
  • Palace to get one of Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Newcastle or Arsenal please.

No it was very smart because it means he doesn’t have to go to that dump in Croydon this weekend. Perfect avoidance tactics

Genuinely a worry now, isn't it. They're already only 3 wins from Wembley. Last 16, lots of rubbish and mediocrity left in the draw. Of the 15 sides likely to be in the draw alongside them, only 6 are better (and Manchester City can't be trusted, and it's very debatable whether Spurs are actually better than Palace).

They could very easily end up with Wycombe at home in tonight's draw, followed by the winner of Cardiff vs Grimsby, or something like that. This Glasner guy is far too good for them and needs to get poached by a bigger club.

They're in Europe though so a league cup run will create problems for them.

I think Palace are one of those clubs that have a good first XI that can beat any team on their day, but they have very little squad depth. Injuries and/or a lot of games could cause problems for them. The Conference league is pretty poor but they don't have a squad like Chelsea where they can get away with fielding a different XI in midweek.

I'd be surprised if they don't suffer later on in the season from having to play every 3-4 days.

You can argue that, but I will argue that it’s a stupid rule.
Why book players for celebrating with fans, taking off shirts, dancing with a mascot, or whatever? The spectators are there for entertainment, not for admiring authoritarian puppets with a whistle.

Anyway, what happens if a wasp goes down your collar? Do you still get booked if you take your shirt off? Why not book someone for changing their boots?

I give you that you can argue it's a stupid rule but it's currently the rule so players should adhere to it.

    It's been around long enough.

Would imagine the wasp gets booked.

House & Street started for Lincoln last night.
  • Emile Heskey has two sons (Jaden and Reigan) who are both on the Man City bench tonight.
  • Stockley comes on for Port Vale, Arsenal reshuffle to counteract the danger.

If you follow the trail we lost to Cambridge United that lost to Fulham who have drawn Wycombe away.

Lets be honest that sounds more like a typical CAFC cup draw 😅

Round 3 draw was alphabetical so we would've played Burnley in round 3, not Fulham.

But in true EFL fashion, they inexplicably changed the rules midway through the tournament so Round 4 was no longer done alphabetically (as you might expect more traditionally) so we can follow Cardiff's draw now... hence Wrexham away and not Wycombe away.

Sometimes a draw comes up where you fervently wish both teams can somehow lose, and this is one of them. Hopefully Liverpool win after penalties where Palace get 3 injuries and 2 players sent off, but then are found to have fielded an ineligible player, but so do Palace and therefore both are eliminated.

FWIW neither options are particularly inspiring but Stevenage -> Cambridge -> Burnley 2nd XI -> Wrexham does very much feel like a missed opportunity at a quarter final berth.

Personally, I'd be happier with a 9-0 Liverpool win which destroys Palace confidence for the season as they crash out of Europe and the Premier League. That's the dream anyway.

  • Uninspiring draw but Wrexham v Cardiff will at least be a good atmosphere.

Grimsby would've probably been hoping for a big PL away tie.

Hopefully Liverpool can end hopes of Palace going all the way.

It’s kinda mad the team with a ‘h’ rather than an ‘a’ gets the lesser draw (any team Scotty Parker manages is the lesser draw by default).

I still retain we would have got Wycombe rather than Wrexham (if not logical, for joke purposes)

Remember the scale of the club has to be lowest, and the stadium in the middle of nowhere (this is the criteria for a Charlton cup draw)!
