Arse diving all over the place now. Getting desperate.
  • The Liverpool fan ref taking away a stonewall penalty there. Have to laugh.
The Liverpool fan ref who.............gave the penalty in the first place.

Liverpool Referee is in the VAR Room, rather than on the pitch?

Both Jared Gillett and Darren England are Liverpool fans. Ref and VAR.

Actually the England claim is just a nonsense edit on Wikipedia so probably isn't. Gillett 100% is though.
  • That decision is beyond farcical. The ball was played onto Pope’s foot and he then cleaned him out. Absolute stonewall penalty and red card.

VAR decisions are getting worse and worse.
Hypothetical situation: If you (a striker) try to go around me (a defender) and i get a touch on it, but then you crash into me and go down, is that a foul? Of course not.

It also wouldn't have been a red card anyway, even if it was a penalty.

Darren England is a Barnsley fan.

But in any case you can't blame Gillett for this, he gave a pen. It's VAR who've told him it's not and that he needed to relook at it.

I can blame him for taking the ball away from Arsenal (who had possession of the ball in the box) to give to Pope after the decision was overturned though.
  • Belter of a header!! - Nothing on Macca though!!

Hmm, could be in trouble for that raised arm... That looks a penalty

See, touch the ball first and you can do anything. What a game we have.

Fair point. And FWIW i don't think a Liverpool fan should be in charge of an Arsenal game when they are likely to be the two teams going for the title.

Surprised the Liverpool VAR referee didn't give a penalty though... ;)

    (Sorry... Couldnt resist)

Both were clear pens, this 'touch the ball' nonsense is crazy.
  • I think the handball rule will always be bullshit and impossible to truly officiate, unless they cruelly make it, so that any arm contact is a foul

Made up for his soft defending for the Newcastle goal

Should Pope have stayed on his line, given the bodies he needed to come through?
  • I don't think I have ever seen anyone take such dangerous corners as Declan Rice does.

    Newcastle always choke.
  • Wasn't much time added on after the injury time goal?

    Just the extra minute?

Three headed goals in a game feels unusual. I know it’s partly Arsenal’s set piece quality but that must be fairly rare?

Great game to watch.  Shame about the result but no one can say they didn't deserve that.

I’m sure someone will come along and say it happened yesterday

Oh look, it's been turned into "Arsenal Life" by one person again. The world is all against them, apparently.

    Embarrassing.

Remind me what the name of the thread is again.

Not sure how you'd talk about Charlton here, least not until next season.

Yawn. Calm down Mr Angry. You won, so you can stop the whining now - just like your manager.

Didn't Odegaard take the corner for the winner?

Although i agree with your point, Rice's set pieces are always quality.

Least I don't create posts about the club. Arsenal life was it? 14 years of hating.
