It's a foul. Circumstances & what it means for both clubs make it dramaticHowever........VAR is so shit. It shouldn't take that long to make a decision1

Deffo a foul, but how many fouls have Arsenal got away in the area this year with their style of’play?2

I don’t disagree but why did it take five minutes if it was that obvious a foul?Rothko said:
I don’t think the ref had a clear view of it, every goal is checked for any fouls, and I just don’t think refs can see everything in a penalty area. So seems a good decisionLargeAddick said:
This. If it takes numerous views and five minutes it isn’t a clear and obvious error for me. Should be three looks, thirty seconds max and if you can’t decide then go with the onfield decision. The Red Robin said:Football is so broken. Massive call, get it right, loads of moving parts, just not that simpleLargeAddick said:

Yep, even at that very moment two of their players were bear hugging West Ham players.EastTerrace said:Deffo a foul, but how many fouls have Arsenal got away in the area this year with their style of’play?4 -
So all the other games they played had nothing to do with it.Gribbo said:
It ain't just decided the title race, it's more than likely sent West Ham downChris_from_Sidcup said:It was definitely a foul on Raya, the West Ham guy was basically holding his arm. VAR has ultimately decided a title race there though because Arsenal will easily win both their last 2 games.0 -
Of course - we only ever look at the whole season. Big, controversial, season-defining decisions like this are never part of the conversation, are they?DennisBooth said:

As soon as i saw the first replay with his arm right across Raya i thought "there's no way they're giving this goal". I'm not sure why it then needed another 5 minutes and being referred to the ref to make the decision, when realistically VAR could've made the call immediately.LargeAddick said:

I guess because of what it meant at the top and bottom of the table they wanted to be 100% sure, but they really didn't need 5 minutes or so to decide.3 -

You’re probably right of course, but VAR has let worse go before. I think that’s what’s so annoying.soapboxsam said:It was a foul on the keeper.
Don't care how much people hate Arsenal on here or want Spurs relegated, that was a foul on Raya.
If the foul wasn't on the KEEPER but an outfield player VAR probably wouldn't have disallowed the goal because there was heavy petting taking place in the box with numerous players !
The pin point Carey corner that Harry Clarke scored at the valley was wrongly disallowed as there was absolutely no foul on the keeper. No VAR in Championship which the majority are happy about so CAFC were robbed of a bona fide goal.

The interesting thing we'll never know (although I suspect I know the answer) - if the keeper wasn't fouled/it didn't go in, would VAR have given a penalty for the fouls being committed by Rice and Trossard?EastTerrace said:Deffo a foul, but how many fouls have Arsenal got away in the area this year with their style of’play?1 -
Definitely a foul on Raya. But Rice clearly fouls the bloke he is marking, pulls him back then wraps both arms round his waist. That happens just as the corner is taken so cannot see how it wasn't a penalty.2

Of course not.North Lower Neil said:

Spurs certainly had the luck with how the fixtures have fallen.
Played Villa when Villa a had European semi final coming up & rested most of their 1st choice 11
Now playing Leeds who are safe & have nothing to play for.0 -
West Ham need at least one win now, to prevent the Met Police's biggest nightmare, West Ham vs Millwall at the London Stadium. Good luck segregating the crowds in the Olympic park...3

Far from done yet. Could see Spurs losing both and West Ham would just need 1 win.Callumcafc said:Spurs 38pts -9

Just want to see it go to the last day5

Chelsea usually play better against the bigger teams, rather than the scrappier ones. If there's one game the Chelsea fans will be DESPERATE to win, it's this one.Laddick01 said:
