How I've read it too, so for instance this makes him look worse than Vigouroux (almost level at goals prevented, worse dealing with crosses) but in reality has faced better shots (harder to save essentially) and therefore has probably put in better performances overall.cantersaddick said:
If I've interpreted this correct it's saying that he's been fairly good shot stopping against decent quality shots. And he's getting towards middle of the road on dealing with crosses?Callumcafc said:
You don't want an Allsop or a Bazunu from this, who have faced crap shots and still let a load in, and someone like Okonkwo is actually one of the better keepers in the league based on this, middle of the road in goals prevented and crosses claimed, but faced much better shots than most of the league1 -
Got really close to saving the penalty0
-
I’d read that as slightly above average for shot stopping and slightly below average for dealing with crosses0

Mannion can consider himself very unlucky to be dropped for Kaminski. Doesn't come for crosses, kicking is awful and the two goals from crosses he conceded tonight were unbelievably bad. Bring back Will Mannion!

He is a fucking liability and a waste of money. Bring Mannion back.cafcsinger said:Mannion can consider himself very unlucky to be dropped for Kaminski. Doesn't come for crosses, kicking is awful and the two goals from crosses he conceded tonight were unbelievably bad. Bring back Will Mannion!2 -
All our goalies aren't Championship quality2

Kaminski has the same amount of clean sheets as Bristol City's keeper and just one less than Stoke's and Coventry's. They all occupy the current top 6.
He was poor IMO tonight but there's no way he's a "waste of money" a "fucking liability" or "not championship standard" so pack it in FFS.20 -
Send him back to Luton !0

Which has been due to the well drilled defensive rearguard.sam3110 said:Kaminski has the same amount of clean sheets as Bristol City's keeper and just one less than Stoke's and Coventry's. They all occupy the current top 6.

Given the choice I’d give Mannion a chance who looks a better keeper to me.8 -
I think he's been great so far and a big step up from Manion, but last night he was toilet1

Main problem seems to be the lack of trust from the defence towards him - the amount of times during a game they refuse to use him as a passing option as an example (even when under pressure). Bell has played with him for years and doesn’t seem to want to use him either. His lack of assertion in the box is also a big issue, punching easily caught crosses is a concern.
I realise that up until last week we had one of the best defences in the league but I think most would agree that’s down to the back 3/4/5 (depending on our shape) and not because he’s been keeping us entirely in games. I’m still annoyed about the “save” in the Millwall game - whilst none of our defenders picked up their player for the equaliser, no goalkeeper should be parrying a ball back into the middle of the area.
One of my mates is a Luton fan and whilst he was part of the team who played for them in the Premier League, his opinion is that Josh Keeley is a better keeper and they’re in League One at the moment.1 -
The first goal was a mishit, you cant blame him.
second one, poor defence, again no fault
Third, was poor and should never be beaten.
Overall just because we have started conceding, most is down to what is in front of him so i don't get the criticism. He is not the problem...1 -
This would be the same Josh Keeley who handed us three goals across two games to cost Orient a league win and promotion? Honourary Addick Josh Keeley? Luton fans also said that Bell’s legs had gone and that turned out to be absolute nonsense as well, I’m never interested in what fans of other teams say about their former players because it’s always skewed based on some bias that doesn’t affect their new team. Kaminski has been decent enough so far but if people are going to say it’s purely the defence that makes him look good then they should remember what things were like for Mannion when we weren’t settled and Bristol Rovers were sticking 3 past himVanbrughHill said:Main problem seems to be the lack of trust from the defence towards him - the amount of times during a game they refuse to use him as a passing option as an example (even when under pressure). What exactly have you seen from him that leads you to think that he is a big step up from Mannion?CAFCsayer said:I think he's been great so far and a big step up from Manion, but last night he was toilet
I was a huge critic of Kaminski at the start of the season. He hasn't been as bad as he was then but I still don't think that he is an improvement on Mannion.
Last night was a new low for him.2 -
I didn't think the first goal was his fault but watching it again today, the ball has travelled a long way and he reacts to the trajectory too late.2
-
I don't think that he covered himself in glory with all 3 goals.1
-
He had absolutely no chance with the first 2 goals, and I say that as someone who thinks goalkeepers are usually overpraised4
-
He's an ok Championship keeper but he's been playing in struggling teams for a while. £1m doesn't get you a great keeper these days. Think how much average players in League One get paid.
He's probably still a bit shell-shocked from Saturday.1 -
agreed - just seen the goals from last night, I'd blame Ramsey for the third, no way he can't just head that away, he seemed to duck under itCAFCsayer said:I think he's been great so far and a big step up from Manion, but last night he was toilet3 -

I too think Ramsay ducks out of the header or at least gets close enough to it to make Kaminski's job a lot harder. Whilst I think there is still a chance he can save it that 3rd goal is far from a GK calamity.Elthamaddick said:

In the same position Jones or Macca get their head on that and clear it.1 -
100% Jones heads that clear1
-
I didn’t like him when we brought him(nothing personal)
manion is imo very unlucky to be on the side lines this season and I personally prefer him to TK.1 -
He’s not as good as I thought he would be, but I still think he’s probably our best keeper0
-
People were feeling very sorry for Gillesphey earlier in the season saying he didn't deserve to lose his place. His limitations have been exposed badly up a division though. Mannion is a decent L1 keeper; he was good when we were settled and was good at claiming the ball but he also had some ropey moments when we weren't as defensively sound down a division. I'd rate him as better than Wollacott, Maynard-Brewer, Isted and MacGillivray from the past few years but that's about it. I suspect the people seeing Kaminski make one bad mistake this season and clamouring for change would not like what they saw if they got their way. Players always improve dramatically when they're out of the team.2
-
Don't rate him tbh, spent a decent fee on him, and he's on 20k a week, expect a lot more.
He's better than almost every keeper we have had for the past 10 years or so, but the bar is on the fkn floor1 -
Every keeper has a shocking game and the best 3 Charlton keepers in my lifetime in Johns, Bolder and Kiely all had games that they would want to forget.
Not for one minute Kaminski is in the bracket of those 3, but would Jones seriously drop him for Saturday after last night?I very much doubt it2 -
Not forgiven him for Millwall yet1
-
17 games and yesterday was the 1st time we’ve seen Kaminski concede a goal he 100% should have stopped. Can’t drop a keeper after 1 mistake. Think it’s to his detriment he has had a good defence in front of him most of the year he’s had more crosses to stop than saves to make.
when he has made massive saves like Price at West Brom and Azon in the first 10 mins at Ipswich nobody remembers those saves but remembers Mannion being very good at commanding his box3
