So are we presuming Leicester's points deduction wont come until after this season is done and be applied next year?0
-
Another stitch up by the EFL. Same as 2020.1
-
Who knows yet - What didn't help in 2019/20 was the fact that the season didn't finish until really late because of Covid.DamoNorthStand said:So are we presuming Leicester's points deduction wont come until after this season is done and be applied next year?0 -
What are you seeing to suggest this please?0

A lot of Boro fans felt Norwich were the best team they've had up at The Riverside this season - they're getting stronger.CatAddick said:I think Pompey and Norwich both have a run in them which might leave last relegation place between us, Blackburn and West Brom. Unless Leicester do get a big deduction…
Pompey at home is massive imho1 -
5 wins from 17 is all we need, regardless of what other teams do.Still too early to be worrying about other clubs going on runs etc.
Much more likely to care about that if we’re still involved with 5 or 6 games left to play.2 -
Definitely not too early to be worrying about clubs around us. It was only 10 days ago we put in one of the worst performances in recent memory. 3 wins in the last 15 games, with only 1 of those being against 11 men. It is in our hands but we most definitely in a relegation battle and part of that as fans is keeping one eye on what other rivals are doing.Callumcafc said:5 wins from 17 is all we need, regardless of what other teams do.Still too early to be worrying about other clubs going on runs etc.

Worst performance in living memory? We lost to some absolute shocking teams just over a year ago (Crawley comes to mind). Whilst it is frustrating it was bloody Millwall, they are 5th in the league for a reason. Let’s at least be realistic.NomadicAddick said:

We've just got to focus on our job - Whatever happens we're not going to be safe until there are 2-3 games remaining, I wouldn't even be surprised if we have to wait till Swansea to be absolutely sure because thats the nature of the Championship. No one around us is going on some massive winning run as thats why they're down where they are, I mean take QPR they're right in mid-table, 4-pts from the Play-Offs yet 5-pts from us if we win on Friday. Inconsistency is the name of this Division5-pts separated 22nd and 16th last season6-pts separated 22nd and 15th in 2023/243

Like I’ve put in the some of the other threads. If we could get a couple of wins in Feb and beat Pompey, I think we could pull clear. Pompey and Oxfords Februarys are terrible and the other two aren’t so favourable.

Recent memory, not living memory. And I still disagree, the performance against Millwall was an absolute disgrace and not because they’re a good side, I can handle that. It was the manner of the performance and lack of effort against our local rivals which was absolutely worse than Crawley and that feeds into my original point about how we should still be worried about those around us results, because we are capable of completely capitulating at this level.BalladMan said:

No need to worry. 6 games this month, 4 at home & 2 away. Win our homes games & draw away = 14 points.
Almost home & hosed.4 -
Ha. Currently 3 points above the trapdoor, but we don't need to worry about other teams results. OK.5

And what have you done with Golfie?7 -
Ah give the guy a break - he moans and gets slagged off, he's positive and we assume he's been bodysnatched
Just enjoy it while it lasts, although I suspect there's an element of sarcasm in there . 1 -
Who has the toughest run in of the relegation candidates? I'm glad you asked.
Easiest to hardest (higher number equals lower average position of opponents, therefore on paper easiest):
Norwich - 13.75 (9 home, 7 away)
Charlton - 12.58 (10 home, 7 away)
Blackburn - 12.56 (7 home, 9 away)
Leicester - 11.75 (8 home, 8 away)
Oxford - 11.75 (8 home, 8 away)
West Brom - 11.56 (9 home, 7 away)
Portsmouth - 10.55 (8 home, 10 away)10 -

So most home games remaining and second easiest run in (on paper).
No excuses really from here.4 -
Other teams’ results are irrelevant if we can’t do our own job of winning enough games.bolloxbolder said:Ha. Currently 3 points above the trapdoor, but we don't need to worry about other teams results. OK.
Trying to look at individual weekends and agonising over single points here and there when there’s still three months left of the season is setting yourself up for anxiety issues!
I feel worse about our situation when I look at the league table. But if you forget it exists momentarily and instead focus on 17 points from our next 17 games keeps us up in almost every season of Championship history, the picture becomes clearer and calmer.
It’s all psychology.2 -

Addick Addict said:Less than a year ago Eustace left Blackburn when they were pushing for promotion for a Derby that were in the relegation zone. Derby are now in the play offs and Blackburn are in danger of relegation.
Derby have now scored, under Eustace, in 21 consecutive matches, something they haven't achieved since the mid 1970s.1 -

Ouch... Terrible defending for Blackburn, they need a Neil Warnock type Manager in the door, them and West Brom just look devoid3
